What happens in our reality, as a rule, we have a main task, parent task, schedule and assigned to a team member, with no estimated hours. Within this task, there are a series of subtasks, with estimated hours, and in the mother task, the sum of the estimated hours of those subtasks will appear. So far so good. The problem is that in the workload, this task appears with an estimated value of 0 hours and is not translated into the weekly/daily capacity of the team member.

It's very common that some tasks may take a long time to complete, and in that period they might be interrupted or paused by some circumstance, and resumed later. Right now, there isn't a comfortable way to visualize this, because having the task split in two or more separate tasks might lead to redundancy in it's descriptions, checklists, etc. Having an insanely long task all over a Gantt diagram isn't optimal either, specially when it was really worked on 50% of it's declared time.

I'd love to have the option to have a monthly view of my resources time/effort allocation in the Workload view.

Currently, the Workload view in ClickUp allows users to visualize workload based on task count or estimated time. We’d like to request the addition of actual time tracked as a workload metric option. This would provide a more accurate reflection of team capacity and effort allocation, especially in teams where time tracking is actively used. Being able to visualize workload based on tracked hours will help in better resource planning, monitoring over/under allocation, and improving overall project management efficiency.

I want my time estimate field to be a formular since the time estimate field is not handy for me. I want to plan my employees by setting a hour that they work on this project per day. So when entering 8 it should show 40 hours per week spread over the start and end date. buut since it doesnt do so i need to calculate and i cant select the result of the calculation cause its a formular field. also the bar in the workload field doesnt show huw much time is spend per day its always the same width.

The workload should be automatically re-distributed based off selectable workload distribution approaches. Approach #1: saturate to over capacity; Approach #2: optimize for evenly distribution. Use case: I have a 5 workdays from Monday to Friday, 8 workhours per workday. I have Task A planned from Monday to Friday, with 10h time estimate. I have Task B planned on Wednesday, with 7h time estimate. Resulting distribution with current implementation (over capacity): Wednesday with 9h (1/5 10h of Task A + 7h of Task B), other days with 2h (1/5 10h of Task A). Resulting distribution with Approach #1: Wednesday with 8h (1h of Task A + 7h of Task B), other days with 2h15m (1/4*9h of Task A). Resulting distribution with Approach #2: Wednesday with 7h (7h of Task B), other days have 2h30m (1/4*10h of Task A).

Often is required by a team to estimate the workload for certain time periods, weekly, monthly , 3 months etc. It would be nice to have a period selection based on the start- due dates information for every task.
