Hi ClickUp Team, I’d like to request an improvement to the Timeline view regarding how subtasks are displayed. Currently, when subtasks are expanded, they appear as separate items and can end up far away from their parent task, especially if their dates differ. This makes it difficult to see the relationship between parent tasks and their subtasks at a glance. It would be very helpful if the Timeline view could visually group subtasks directly beneath or next to their parent task, similar to a tree or nested structure. This would improve clarity and make project planning much easier when working with complex tasks and subtasks. Thank you for considering this feature!

When a public link is created for a timeline, there is an option for "Allow opening tasks on click" that we will always turn off, as we don't want clients seeing the details and all the internal comments. However, the internal versions do not have this option. We have client spaces where we add their docs including an overview of processes, a feedback form, and a timeline so they have everything in one place. This is perfect – we don't need them to be able to do anything – they are added as 'comment only' guests. The board view is set to private, as it is an internal board for us to organise the team tasks. And yet if the client clicks on an item in the timeline – they can view the task anyway, along with all of the internal comments. Please add the 'Allow opening tasks on click' option to the timelines as standard, and not just the public links!

We recently migrated from Asana to ClickUp and so far the engineering team loves it. However, as the product person who need to map out the timeline view of our high level roadmap for the next 12 months, the timeline view is really not cutting it for us since the monthly view is still too expanded. Can you please add a quarterly or more zoomed out view so we can see 12 months on the same page? The gantt chart view does not do it because we can't put separate items in the same lane. Attached are what we see in Clickup (mid migration) and what we would like to see and get in Asana.

It would be nice if we could add our custom views to the task cards that appear in the Time View. This would allow us to manage as efficiently from Time as we can in List.

I know there is a completion % bar across the tasks, but included in the % would be good to have how many days/weeks/months/years the project is running for, We state a project is 6-8 weeks - I want to ensure when I move dates, it keeps in line with 6-8 weeks. A current workaround using the duration field, which is great, but I need it as a task. It would be good to allow for weeks and months in the duration field when applying dates

Seeing tasks by week isn't helpful when a lot of people bill mont to month. Because projects take several months, it would be really nice to see them as monthly tasks so I don't have to manually add up each week. It's really difficult to figure out how much time was logged each month when the timer only shows a total for the entire project.

In the timeline view, it would be great to see the priority status on the task bar

Timeline would increase it's usefulness if you were able to choose a main Grouping and then a sub-grouping for the tasks. I have my timeline grouped by a custom field, thats great - but now I want to organise the tasks that are showing in each of these lanes by their assignee. So the timeline would look like: Custom field 1 - Assignee A - Assignee B Custom field 2 - Assignee A - Assignee C I am using Assignee as an example, but I'm sure that any combination of all tasks fields would be useful to be able to combine.

I have a long custom field label list. I want to create a timeline, group by that label, and filter to see only 5 of those label options. Currently, when I group by that CF and filter those 5 out, it only shows the ones that have something assigned. If I enable "show empty groups", it will show ALL the options, not just the filtered 5. There isn't a middle ground where I see those 5 filtered options only, empty or not.

Good morning, I would like to group tasks in a “Timeline View” or “Scheduling View” with a second group level. This will prevent spots from being distributed in the voids in the upper lines. If this is impossible to allow to leave the location free of stains on the various lines.
