Feature Requests

What: A WYSIWYG template designer for exports (headers, footers, placeholders for fields/checklists/comments, conditional sections) with reusable templates and batch export. Why: SOPs and QMS docs need consistent, branded, audit-ready layouts; current exports need manual fixes. Benefit: Standardizes documents at scale, eliminates manual formatting, and speeds compliance-ready publishing.

Currently, ClickUp Docs cannot be fully moved into a Space. When selecting Move and choosing a Space, the document is only added as a View, not as a native document under that Space. The only workaround today is to manually create a new Doc in the target Space and copy the content from the original Doc. This approach is time-consuming and not scalable. Requested Enhancement Enable the ability to move an existing Doc into a Space so that it becomes a (native) Space document, identical in structure and behavior to a Doc created directly in that Space.

When I paste a markdown text in a doc, I expect ClickUp docs to render the markdown, not insert a md code block. It is very annoying having to spend minutes reformating it manually and prevents me from using it more.

I would like to request we get dark mode as an option for shared docs. Sharing a doc through a link where the recepient is not a Clickup user currently forces a light/bright and white theme. Others I work with are often in dimly lit rooms (video editing, color grading, 3D animation and the like), and prefer dark mode in various software. If I send them a doc and it's pure white, it feels very unprofessional and disrupting.

We often mention specific tasks in documentation or meeting notes, and the status indication launched in 4.0 is very distracting. We LOVE having the task type symbol there, but the status is too much. Can that be turned off? Or, even better, could we have the option of customizing what is shown on inline tasks in docs?

Writing in documents on clickup is fine and even very similar to how other document software works, like Google or Microsoft. But when it comes to exports it is all off. Besides the fact that it only gives you a PDF option it also keeps exporting PDFs in a format size much larger than standard 8.5x11 so all the text runs off the sides of the page. This needs to be fixed and please do not tell me that is how it is intended to work because every time I submit a valid bug report someone tells me that's how it was intended. That is not how it is supposed to be designed, all document software in the western world allows you to export in 8.5x11 since that is standard letter size in America. Not having that ability makes the entire tool useless and I would really like to continue using it. Please fix this!

GitLab/Github wikis give the possibility to render plantuml/mermaidjs diagrams. It would be awesome to have the same feature.

My workflow involves writing docs based on tasks in ClickUp. Currently I can't write my doc and view my projects at the same time. It would be good to allow Docs to be opened in a new tab or window, if not more generally, allowing multiple windows for ClickUp.

Please add folders in the docs section so we can organize docs in folders in the docs section (not based on space)

There are so many things that notion does better when it comes to the typing and formatting experience. Like there is so much flexiblity and also ease of use in notion that isn't showing up in clickup. For example, notion tables are 5X better than clickup table Also I can't share a subpage with someone without sharing the primary page - this sucks honestly. Love you guys though. If yall solve this docs issue, you guys are gonna eat up the compeition.
