Finding Tasks gets more hard with every update. When you do not have the AI plan, the search bar is not functioning well. I am trying to find tasks, but the more the sidebar is expanded, the harder it becomes to find anything. I assume tasks are one of the highest priorities in this program, especially since I am also integrated with Dropbox. However, simply entering a word, pressing enter, and not finding any results, even when I have 40 tasks with that name, makes the search feel unreliable. I think this reduces the overall value and purpose of the product, so I wanted to share this feedback. Also, asking questions to a support person from my profile does not seem possible anymore. This used to be much easier.

Overview: Currently, search responsiveness can feel bottlenecked by network latency. I suggest implementing a Client-Side Search Index to provide instantaneous feedback for common queries, significantly improving the perceived speed of the platform. Core Concept: The Client-Side Trie By utilizing a Trie (Prefix Tree) data structure on the client, ClickUp could offer near-instant search results for high-frequency items (Tasks, Docs, Folders). Benefit: Finding a task by its title becomes an "O(L)" operation (where "L" is the word length), making the search feel "local" even in massive workspaces. Optimization: Bloom Filter Pre-check To make this system even more efficient, a Bloom Filter could act as a lightweight "gatekeeper" before the search starts. How it helps: It quickly determines if a search term exists in the local cache. If it doesn't, the app skips the local search and hits the Server API immediately, avoiding any unnecessary overhead. Implementation Strategy: Seamless & Performant To ensure this doesn't impact the main UI performance, I suggest: Web Worker Offloading: Run the Trie and Bloom Filter logic in a background Web Worker. This keeps the main thread free for animations and user interactions. L1/L2 Hybrid Model: Treat the client-side Trie as an "L1 Cache" that hydrates and learns from the "L2" (Server API) results. Over time, the local search becomes smarter and faster.

The search function is most of the time unusable, doesn't even return any results before I give up and use a different method to find what I'm looking for. Very disappointing!

When searching a task, many results are coming up including not relevant. It would be great if the search query would be highlighted (either with background color or in bold).

Previously, entering a Task ID or project number, displayed the relevant item. It would be great if that feature is enabled again. I don't need 'Brain' for lookup activities, do use it extensively for Task updates and summaries and mostly everything else in Click up.

When using search, there are options to filter based on what we want to search - eg Tasks, Docs, Comments, Messages, People Etc etc. That's great. But the problem is, on Desktop, we see both Messages (ie Clickup Chat) and Comments (ie Task Activity section Comments). On mobile, the option is not there to search Comments. We only see Messages. That severely limits ability to search on mobile. Seems it should be allowed - if everything else is the same between the Desktop and Mobile search, why only Comments filter is not available?

We should be able to integrate these into connected search. Be nice if I could search a contact click on it and it opens up that app or site.

When using the search bar inside a list, ClickUp returns results for parent tasks but does not return any matching subtasks. This makes it difficult to quickly locate subtasks within large lists and affects day-to-day navigation and workflow efficiency. Please consider fixing this so subtasks are included in list-level search results, or provide a setting to enable this behavior.

Currently, all tasks appear in the search results, even tasks with a closed status. It is necessary to configure the filters each time because it is impossible to save them. It would be really useful in terms of saving time and productivity to be able to save global search filters.
