The ClickUp Chrome Extension allows users to create tasks from selected text on web pages. However, the current implementation limits the utility of this feature by not creating a linked object, which results in the URL being embedded in the task title. This request seeks to enhance the bookmarking feature by automatically generating a linked object within the task. Current Behavior: • User selects text on a webpage. • User right-clicks to create a bookmark via the ClickUp Chrome Extension. • A new task is created with the web page title as the task title and the selected text as the description. The URL is appended to the task title. Limitations: • The URL in the title constrains the user from editing the title to better describe the bookmark's purpose. • The task lacks a linked object that would provide a thumbnail, page title, and meta description. Requested Behavior: • When a bookmark is created, a linked object should be automatically generated and associated with the task. • The linked object would contain a thumbnail of the featured art, the title of the page, and the meta description. • The task title should not include the URL, allowing the user to edit it freely. Benefits: • Users can customize task titles for clarity and relevance. • The linked object enhances visual recognition and context for the bookmarked content. • Streamlines the process of organizing and referencing web-based resources within ClickUp tasks. [Screenshot 3]: Demonstrates the 'Links' section within a task that could ideally hold the linked object. Additional Notes: This enhancement would align the bookmarking feature with ClickUp's existing functionality, making bookmarks more versatile and user-friendly.
