Unified Knowledge Graph View (Obsidian-style) for Docs, Tasks, and Chat threads, with topic tagging and participant visibility
Context We use ClickUp as an all-in-one app (documentation, task execution, and communication). ClickUp already has Relationships and References (mentions/backlinks), but information is still fragmented across Docs, tasks, and Chat. As the workspace grows, it becomes hard to understand “what is connected to what” around a topic, and where key decisions were discussed. Problem There is no unified, graph-style visualization of connections across Docs, tasks, and chat discussions. Topic-based discussions in Chat are hard to track over time; you cannot quickly see all threads related to a topic, who participated, and which tasks/docs resulted from the discussion. Decision context gets lost; tasks exist, but it is unclear which conversation led to the decision and why. Proposed solution Introduce a dedicated Graph View (Obsidian-style) that shows nodes and edges across: Docs and Doc pages Tasks and subtasks Chat: channels and especially chat threads (threads as first-class, linkable entities) The graph should reuse existing links and add a small set of missing primitives: A) Reuse existing link types Task Relationships: linked tasks, linked docs, dependencies References/backlinks: generated by @mentions across the workspace B) Add missing capabilities for “topic-based chat” Topic linking for chat threads: ability to link a chat thread to: a Topic entity (new concept), or a dedicated “Topic” tag/label system optionally also link the thread directly to a Doc/task (“this thread is about X”) Goal: make “chats by topic” navigable and durable, not just chronological messages. Core use cases Topic map: open a Topic (e.g., “Pricing”, “June campaign”, “Client onboarding”) and see: related Docs related tasks/subtasks all related chat threads where it was discussed Who discussed it: for every chat thread node, show: participants (avatars + count, ideally top contributors) time window (first/last activity) Decision traceability: go from a strategy Doc to the discussions that led to decisions, and to the execution tasks that implement them (and vice versa). Find orphan items: identify Docs/tasks/threads with no links. MVP requirements (minimum viable) A Graph View available at Workspace/Space/Folder/List scope, plus “neighborhood view” starting from a Doc/task/thread. Nodes: Doc, page, task, subtask, chat thread. Edges: existing relationships + references (@mentions) + “thread linked to topic”. Participant visibility on chat thread nodes. Filters: node type, edge type, task status, assignee, channel, time range. Permissions-aware: only show items the viewer has access to. Click to open: clicking a node opens the underlying Doc/task/thread. Nice-to-have (after MVP) Expand neighbors on demand (depth 1-3) for performance. Activity weighting/heatmap to highlight highly active discussion threads. “Create task from thread” automatically keeps the graph link. “Topic page” that acts as a hub (Doc/page with embedded graph widget and linked items). Acceptance criteria From a Topic, I can open Graph View and instantly see all related chat threads, docs, and tasks. I can filter to only chat threads and answer “who discussed this?” quickly. I can navigate Doc -> thread -> task and back without manual search. Why this matters ClickUp already has the underlying relationship data (Relationships + References). A unified graph that includes Chat would turn ClickUp into a true second-brain system where decisions, discussions, and execution are connected and easy to trace.

Improving Overdue Task Notifications
Hi ClickUp Team, I've been using the app for a while and overall it's great, but I'd like to share some honest feedback on the overdue task notifications. Currently, they feel quite stressful and judgmental, especially when a “Task OVERDUE!” pops up late at night with only a “Reply” button. Here are three suggestions that I believe would make this feature much more supportive: First, please add one or two additional action buttons. Instead of forcing us into the task via “Reply,” you could offer a gentle “Dismiss” or “Mark as Seen,” plus a convenient “Reschedule” button that lets us quickly pick a new date without leaving the notification. Second, the notification should prominently display priority and progress. Include the task's priority level (e.g., High, Medium) and a brief progress summary like “Sub-tasks: 4/7 completed.” This gives immediate context and helps us decide if the task needs instant attention. Third, use Android's native ProgressBar API to display completion visually. A progress bar focusing on how much is done (e.g., 80%) shifts the emotional tone from “You're late” to “You're almost there,” which is far more motivating. These changes would transform the notification from an anxiety trigger into a genuinely helpful nudge. Thank you for considering this feedback—I'm confident it would make a big difference for many users. Best regards

Enable Drag & Drop Reordering of Checklist Items on Mobile App
Summary: The ClickUp mobile app currently does not support drag-and-drop reordering of checklist items within a task. This core organizational feature has been available on desktop for years, but its absence on mobile creates significant workflow friction for users who manage tasks on the go. Current Behavior: On the ClickUp mobile app (both iOS and Android), when you open a task and view its checklist, you can add new items and check them off — but there is no way to manually reorder existing items by dragging them. Tapping and holding a checklist item opens an edit menu, but none of the options allow for repositioning. The only way to rearrange checklist items on mobile is through cumbersome workarounds such as deleting and recreating items in the desired order or switching to a desktop device. Expected Behavior: Users should be able to long-press a checklist item, see a drag handle appear, and freely move it up or down within the checklist. The reordering should be reflected instantly and synced across all devices in real time, just as it does when reordering tasks in List view on mobile. Why This Matters: Mobile-First Workflows Are the Norm: A growing number of ClickUp users rely primarily or exclusively on the mobile app for day-to-day task management. For field workers, freelancers, event coordinators, and anyone frequently away from a desk, the inability to reorder a simple checklist on mobile means workflows grind to a halt or require switching devices entirely. Checklists Often Require Dynamic Reprioritization: A checklist is rarely static. Priorities shift, new steps emerge, and sequences need adjustment. Without drag-and-drop reorder on mobile, users are forced to either work with a suboptimal order or spend valuable time finding a desktop to make a 2-second adjustment. Feature Parity Between Desktop and Mobile: ClickUp has built a reputation for feature-rich parity across platforms, but this is a notable gap. Tasks can already be reordered via drag-and-drop in List view on mobile, and even task details within the task layout can be rearranged on mobile. It feels like an unintentional omission that checklist items — one of the most frequently used task components — lack the same capability. Competitive Expectation: Most modern project management and to-do list apps (Todoist, TickTick, Notion, Microsoft To Do) offer drag-and-drop checklist or subtask reordering on mobile. ClickUp, as an all-in-one productivity platform, should not lag behind in this foundational UX pattern. Use Case Example: A construction project manager is walking a job site with only their phone. They pull up a task containing a 15-item inspection checklist. After completing item #3, they realize item #8 should actually be tackled next due to a dependency. Without drag-and-drop reorder, they must either mentally skip around the list (increasing the risk of missed items) or stop what they're doing, find a laptop, reorder the checklist, and return — defeating the purpose of mobile productivity. Suggested Implementation: · Add a drag handle (six-dot icon) that appears on the left side of each checklist item on long-press. · Enable smooth vertical drag-and-drop with haptic feedback to confirm placement. · Auto-scroll the checklist view when dragging an item near the top or bottom edge of the screen. · Ensure the reordering syncs immediately with desktop and other clients. Priority: High — this impacts a core, daily-use feature. The workaround is impractical, and the desktop-only limitation undermines ClickUp's mobile value proposition. Numerous users have expressed related frustrations about mobile checklist management, from the inability to reorder items to general usability gaps. Closing: We love ClickUp and its rapid pace of improvement. Adding mobile checklist drag-and-drop would close a small but meaningful gap that affects thousands of users daily. Thank you for considering this request — we're happy to provide screenshots, screen recordings, or additional context if needed.
