We need the ability for external users (those without a ClickUp account or license) to perform limited, secure actions—such as approving or denying requests—directly from email notifications or public links generated by ClickUp. Many workflows involve stakeholders outside our organization, such as supervisors, clients, or community members, who do not have ClickUp accounts. For example, when a member of the public submits a room reservation request via a ClickUp Form, their supervisor (who is not a ClickUp user) must approve or deny the request. Currently, there is no way for these external approvers to interact with the request without being invited as a guest or member, which is not always feasible or desirable. Allow external users to take specific, limited actions (such as “Approve” or “Deny”) via a secure link in an automated email or public task view. Actions taken by external users should update the relevant task’s status or custom field in ClickUp. No ClickUp account, login, or guest invitation should be required for these limited actions. Optionally, allow organizations to define which actions are available to external users for each workflow or form. Example Scenarios: Supervisor approval for student requests. Client sign-off on deliverables. Vendor confirmation of service dates. Please consider adding support for secure, limited actions by external users to enhance ClickUp’s flexibility for organizations with public-facing or cross-institutional workflows.
