Make comment private and share only with selected people.

Please make the task comment editor behave consistently with Docs and task descriptions when working inside checklists, bulleted lists, and numbered lists. Right now, when I paste an image inside a list item in a task comment, the image is pushed into a new list item instead of staying within the current one. Also, pressing Shift+Enter inside a list in comments creates a new list item instead of a simple line break. This creates inconsistent editing behavior across different text input areas within the same app. Requested behavior Inside task comments, when editing checklists, bulleted lists, and numbered lists: pasted images should remain inside the current list item images should be allowed inline or on a new line within the same item Shift+Enter should create a line break within the current list item Enter should create a new list item behavior should match Docs and task descriptions as closely as possible Why this matters This has a direct impact on speed and usability. Every time an image is pasted into a checklist item, ClickUp creates an extra checkbox that has to be removed manually. The workaround is to place the cursor before the image and press Backspace to merge it back into the intended item. That adds unnecessary friction to a very basic editing workflow! Users naturally expect core editor behavior to work the same way across comments, Docs, and task descriptions inside the same product.

As a task flows through each stage (e.g. Icebox, In-Progress, QA, Complete), there are different requirements that are necessary for each pipeline. We often copy paste a form into the comments of a task when moving from In Progress to QA. It would be nice to be able to apply a template to a comment which fills in questions that need to be answered instead of having to manually copy paste from another source.

We use Email in ClickUp to respond to customer emails directly from tasks. When replying using the threaded Reply option (replying to an existing email in the task activity), ClickUp includes the full previous email content in the reply body, and there is no option to remove or collapse the quoted history before sending. This creates a poor experience for recipients in Gmail because the outgoing email becomes very cluttered with repeated prior messages, and Gmail does not consistently minimize/collapse the old content the way it typically does with native Gmail replies. Current behavior: Replying from a task via the threaded “Reply” action automatically includes the full prior email chain in the email body. The composer does not provide a way to trim/remove the quoted text, or to send only the new reply content. Expected behavior / requested enhancement: Please add one or more of the following options for threaded email replies: A toggle to hide/collapse quoted text in the reply composer (and send only the new content). An option to remove quoted history from the reply body (similar to standard email clients). A setting at the Workspace or user level such as “Include quoted text in replies: On/Off.” (Optional) A “Show quoted history” expandable section in the composer UI so it’s available for reference but not sent as clutter by default. Impact: Makes external communication harder to read (especially for Gmail users). Adds noise and can look unprofessional, particularly over long threads. 3 . Forces us to avoid threaded replies, which reduces the value of keeping email conversations neatly threaded in ClickUp.

Would be nice to have the ability to highlight a line or text in a task description and comment on it. Then— it would show a link in the comments section and quote the highlighted text. There would also be an indication that indicates that line or text was commented on. This makes it easier if you have a lengthy description and team members want to comment on something in particular! Similar to how notion does this: https://bit.ly/2CcPq3j

It's so easy to miss the threaded reply as it's currently collapsed by default... could there be an option to keep them expanded? Thanks!

It would be very helpful if comment threads had titles. When I jump from task to task and we have multiple threads in the same task, it is very difficult to figure our if I have the right thread opened. Where it now says 'Tread by name' I would like to add a Title/topic to that thread. This would give a much better overview. Thank you Siif

Would like to know who has seen and presumably read comments

When I have to responde a chat to more than 1 people, it would be nice to click somewhere like "reply to all in that conversation", instead of having to write "@..." different times. Thanks!

It would be cool if you had the ability to pin important comments to the top of the comments thread. Asana does it in a nice way.
