Feature Requests

task layout is currently frozen and wooden. i need it to fit my application. specifically: --let me change label of Task Name field. eg, Contact Name, Company Name, Product Name, etc. --have no need for the Description Field. either let me hide it or move it to the bottom. --let me move all fields around, not just custom fields. let me put them in any order i want to facilitate data entry.

It would be very convenient to have the ability to have subfolders. I use folders for classifying projects. For example, Projects would be a Folder name. 2019 Projects would be a Subfolder name.

I would appreciate a few improvements that would make larger ClickUp workspaces cleaner and easier to manage: Allow Task Types to be limited to specific Spaces, Folders, or Lists, so users only see relevant options and the workspace stays less cluttered. Allow default view templates to be configured at Folder and List level, not only at Space level. Allow colours to be created and managed for a specific List instead of being shared across the entire Workspace. This would prevent irrelevant colours from appearing in unrelated locations. Allow shared column settings in Dashboard List and Folder cards, so all users see the same layout when opening the dashboard instead of each person having a different personal setup. I’m looking forward to Custom Fields for Lists, as they could make Lists much easier to categorize, filter, and report on. Allow Folder views to display Custom Fields that exist only in some of the Lists inside that Folder. Where the field does not apply, the value could simply remain empty.

List owners would be a more useful feature if I could set automations on them. I'd like an automation like "When a task on this list due data arrives, then send email to this list owner" or better yet "... then send email to all owners of lists in this folder." From my view, there are no automations or API calls set up for list owners. This would be an improvement to my workflow.

My left sidebar has a long scroll, meaning Home is not a simple one click. Would be very useful for this to be pinned on the favourite bar

When subtasks are closed out I get constant "where is the information?" "where are the documents?" especially when the items are grayed out in the resolved graveyard. I copy everything into the SubTask. This applies to attachments especially! Would love if everything in the activity of a SubTask was automatically capture in the main Task.

In the 'Home' sidebar, show the number of 'Skills' created, a bit like notifications in the 'Inbox' or 'Incoming' box. Or create a dedicated section like that of 'Super Agents' that immediately catches the eye.

Make it easy to move comments from a task to a subtask or another task.

It'd be awesome if we had a central place to create, edit, delete clickapps globally. For example, I have several old custom fields that are no longer used. There is no way to just delete the custom field globally or replace it with a different one. Same for tags. Sometimes deleting a tag or replacing it with a different one for better context is needed. It'd be great to have a central place to see all tags, where they're being used and then create, edit, delete them. Currently managing this aspect is really clunky and requires a lot of steps and moving around your workspaces.

It would be awesome to be able to group spaces into different sections. I know, it's something not that 'wow', but it could help a lot! Let's say in our company we have different "types" of work: Internal and external. Internal: All common departments such as HR, Marketing, Finances, etc... External: Projects (with clients). This applies very well to us because we're a consulting firm. It would be great also to customize these names, as it happens with folders. (ie. Section 1 is called "Internal use", and section 2 is called "Projects")
