Add an optional Chargeable Time field when creating or editing a time entry in ClickUp. Today, time entries can be marked as billable or non-billable. This is useful for determining whether the actual time worked is billable, but it does not support cases where the amount of time worked differs from the amount to be invoiced to the customer. Problem The current Billable flag only describes the nature of the actual hours worked. It does not allow users to separately indicate how many hours should be charged to the customer. I'm a developer and I'm using the API to keep track of the times executed per task. It would be good if all 100 uses are reset every month. It limits a lot for testing. I don't know in which case anyone would like to use an API with only 100 unique uses. To do another type of integration, if I knew that I only have 100 uses, I don't risk it. I also have a paid account, but for development I use a free account. I understand the advantages of the paid version, but for development use, that amount I have is no longer going to work for me. I'm not going to get into the mess of creating email accounts just to have 100 more free uses, obviously I'm going to use my paid account, but I think that if they release those 100 uses per month they will help developers to be encouraged to integrate ClickUp with external tools. Currently, the "billable" setting is available at the Space level. We would appreciate an option to apply this setting at the List level, allowing all tasks within a specific list to be automatically marked as billable if desired.

guest users/external collaborators can see all tracked time by default, for tasks where they have view access. guests (clients) should not be able to see tracked time on work that is done for them.

It would be extremely valuable for ClickUp to support native labor rate assignments at both the Role and Task levels. Many organizations use ClickUp to manage projects, resources, capacity planning, and time tracking. However, teams that need to understand project costs, profitability, budget burn, and resource utilization often must rely on external tools because labor rates cannot currently be assigned directly within ClickUp. Adding the ability to assign rates by role and/or task would significantly enhance ClickUp's capabilities as a comprehensive project and operations management platform. I want the ability for my support team to submit a task/ticket by using a prefilled form, but on the form they cannot add tracked time to the ticket. It would be A LOT EASIER if they could log the task using the form and track their time before submitting the form. Right now, we have to create tasks using the form, but leave them as "To Do" or InProgress and then go find the task to add tracked time to it, then set it to completed. Our team uses clickup to track support tickets, quick tickets are completed within 5-10mins and the user needs to log the ticket using our click up form for time tracking and support tracking. The process is so cumbersome right now, having to use the form link, then open click up, navigate to the ticket list, find the task, add the time and complete it. If we could just submit tickets right from the form, and have automations assign them to the person who submits it, the task can be created and closed right from the form, but it NEED time tracked assigned to it as well!!! Please send help. We're tired of doing the workaround.

I’d like to suggest a small enhancement for tracking time in a task. Currently, when logging time manually, I need to select both the date and time range every time. In my workflow, I often report tasks using the same fixed time blocks each day, for example: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM It would be really helpful to allow me to save preferred time frames/presets that can be quickly selected when logging time. I'll only need to choose the date, then select one of my saved time blocks. This wouldn’t replace the current custom time selection flow — it would simply add a faster option for repetitive scheduling/reporting workflows. I think this could improve efficiency for users who regularly log time in recurring work sessions or structured schedules. Thank you!

Description: I link my Planner Events to specific ClickUp Tasks. It would be a massive productivity boost if the time duration defined in the Planner could be automatically (or with one click) synced to the "Track Time" section of the linked task. The Problem: Right now, even though I have a 2-hour block clearly marked in the Planner, I still have to manually type "2h" into the Time Tracker of the task once I’m done. This is redundant manual entry. Requested Feature: A button or setting to "Log this Event duration as Tracked Time" for the assigned task. Seamless integration between the scheduled time in Planner and the actual time tracking logs.

Time tracker: add 'idle time removal' feature. The Harvest ( getharvest.com ) time tracker will give a prompt "would you like to remove the __minutes of idle time". This is a nice feature for more accurate time tracking for when we step away from the computer and forgot to turn off the timer.

My company and I have been using ClickUp for the past few months, and overall we love the flexibility and systems it provides. However, one major pain point for our workflow is the inability to track active time entries in real time. A large portion of our work involves ad hoc requests, troubleshooting, and investigations. Currently, the only way to see how much time a user has spent on a task is after they stop the timer and finalize the time entry. This creates a challenge because many of our tasks are time-boxed to a specific number of billable hours. As I’m sure many people can relate to, when you’re deep into debugging or resolving an issue, it’s very easy to lose track of time. This can create real business impacts for teams that work under contracts or fixed-hour agreements. For example, if a client only approves a certain number of billable hours for a task and we exceed that limit without realizing it, we often have to absorb those extra costs ourselves because we were unable to notify the client in time. What would be incredibly valuable is a way to monitor tracked time while the timer is still running and trigger automations based on progress toward the task’s time estimate. For example: * A configurable automation that triggers when a technician reaches 90–95% of the estimated time for a task * An in-task warning, notification, or tag indicating they are approaching the time limit * Optional reminders prompting the technician to document notes, update the client, or request approval before exceeding the allocated hours I found a request from 2024 mentioning automations based on “time worked vs. time estimate,” but that does not fully solve the issue if the work is completed in a single continuous time-tracking session. The key missing piece is visibility and automation tied to active running timers, not finalized entries. I imagine we are far from the only team that would benefit from this feature, especially for MSPs, consulting teams, contractors, and technical support organizations that rely heavily on time-boxed work and billable-hour tracking. If there is already a way to accomplish this, I would genuinely love to learn about it. I’ve searched through ClickUp Brain and current documentation but have not found a solution that supports real-time monitoring of active tracked time.
