Display Tags in Planner / Calendar Time Blocks
Summary: Users managing multiple client workspaces often have identical recurring task names (e.g., “Reconciliation,” “Month Close”) across dozens or hundreds of clients. Tags are used to identify which client each task belongs to. However, in the Planner (Time Blocking) view, tags are not visible on the time blocks, making it impossible to distinguish tasks that share the same name. This creates major usability and tracking issues for client-based workflows. Current Behavior: Tags can be displayed in List, Board, and some Calendar views. In Planner View, tags do not appear on time blocks or in task labels. Currently we are told by support this is a known limitation and to “workaround” Users must open each task individually or rename all tasks to include the client name — an unmanageable process for organizations managing hundreds of clients. This also means new client workflows require manual edits instead of flowing through our automation. Impact: Causes confusion and inefficiency when scheduling or reviewing time blocks. You cannot look at the calendar and know which client you are working with without clicking in. Prevents accurate client workload tracking and planning. Creates excessive manual work for users managing high-volume, standardized task structures (e.g., accounting firms, agencies, or multi-client teams). Requested Enhancement: Add the ability to display tags (and/or custom field values such as Client Name) directly on Planner View time blocks. Ideally, this should be toggleable in the “Customize” options, similar to how fields can be shown in Calendar or List views. Why It Matters: This improvement would: Greatly improve visibility for client-specific tasks. Eliminate the need to MANUALLY rename hundreds of standardized tasks. Enable efficient time-blocking and planning for client-heavy workspaces. Too many clicks otherwise Example Use Case (I have a video in clips and its linked in my last support chat. Cannot link here because of Client info and its too large to attach.): An accounting firm manages over 50 client task lists, each containing identical recurring tasks like “Reconciliation” and “Month Close.” In Planner View, these tasks appear as dozens of identical blocks with no way to tell which client they belong to, even though each is tagged properly in the system.
