2 way sync for Google Calendar
in progress

Yahu
Hi There! I see all the tasks that I have planned for my day on the top of my calendar on the section "All day" and that is great! however, there are several things that would be great to fix and improve, see my notes below:
- when I mark tasks done, the tasks showing in my calendar don't go away. they stay there. if it is a 2 way sync, when I mark something done or moved to another day etc, It should reflect in my calendar, right?
- Any meetings I add under google calendar or that my team adds, they don't over to the calendar in click up. and even when I adjust the time of a task to be done specifically, like it is not updated in the CU Calendar...
am I missing something maybe? let me know. thank you!

Hi folks - Ricardo here, I own calendar at Clickup. How's your day going today? đŠâïž
I wanted to provide you with an update on this.
As Ivan mentioned, we've been working hard to move the Google Calendar integration to a new platform as well as AppCenter as both are pre-requisites to improving the way tasks sync to Google Calendar.
đ Good news - we've now completed this work.
It's been a mountain(!) of work, but we trust this puts us in the best possible place to get this feature right for you.
I know there's been lots of hurdles in this specific part of the software, and I'm keen to make this right for you. Me & the team are going to put real work in, but also want to set your expectations getting this to work 100% of the times won't happen overnight.
Features like this have lots of little nuances, so even though I can tell you that we sync millions of tasks successfully every day, that means nothing if (for you) it's not working. It sucks, I hear you. We'll make it right. đ«Ą

A very important issue: tasks with the status "Closed" should not continue to appear on Google Calendar. What makes sense is to see on the calendar only tasks with status "not closed". This is how other tools that also sync with Google Calendar work and it makes no sense that ClickUp sync continues to show tasks/events on Google Calendar after they are closed.
Basically, what we should see in Google Calendar is exactly the same tasks/events that we also see in a Calendar View inside ClickUp.

Hi current integration of calendar is lacking the ability to write on additional google calendars is only able to write to "the first calendar of the account" and not to any other owned calendars

How do I get a job where I can own a very small feature in a massive software that pushes out huge changes weekly, in the age of AI, and make no meaningful improvements to that feature for an entire year? Does it pay well?! Where can I apply?
Also, I find it funny that two way sync is 2 out of the top 10 most voted requests. Love that we're all in sync! Minus Ricardo.. Ricardo is not in sync.

Hi, does anyone have a more recent update on native Calendar within Clickup ? The color schemes are dreadful and the integration with Tasks, and just so much about the Calendar within Clickup is not great. As a productivity app I would have thought Tasks and Calendar would be top two priorities. I have now been waiting 5 years and the Calendar is nowhere near fixed. Does anyone have an update please ?

George Stefanescu I don't think it will come up soon, as there there other bigger problems with calendar.
the main issue for me - it sync not all the tasks, so i use iCal sync also, as iCal shows which tasks wants sync and I block the time manually in my calendar.

Hey Ricardo,
I appreciate the update, but to be honest, itâs getting pretty frustrating to hearâyet againâthat a feature so many of us have needed for ages is still not fully implemented. You keep saying youâre âmoving mountainsâ to make it happen, but from a user perspective, it feels like weâre stuck at the bottom of the same hill.
I get that syncing tasks with Google Calendar can be complex and that youâre trying to do it âthe right way.â However, there comes a point where this constant âwork in progressâ approach feels more like a stall than a genuine effort. Itâs especially discouraging when your team mentions syncing millions of tasks every day but canât get basic reliability for loyal users who rely on this integration to plan work and schedule effectively.
I know things donât always happen overnight, but itâs been quite a journey with very little to show for it. If the current process isnât cutting it, maybe itâs time to reconsider whoâs handling the project or how theyâre approaching it. Ultimately, we just want a feature that works seamlesslyâno more promises, no more âitâs almost here,â just results.

Garrett Moore I know. Ricardo Clerigo - can we at least get some sort of update?

Ricardo Clerigo We really need the ability to turn off birthdays on the clickup calendar, just like how you can on the native google calendar app. Google pulls birthdays from google contacts so there are just too many birthdays on my calendar. Please fix this đ

It's now 2025. Are we still struggling with this?

John Derringer
Hey, Ricardo Clerigo
We are all super excited about this feature and since you pinned this in July is it safe to assume that we're getting closer to completion?
This would really help our team block out their calendars properly and be more efficient.
Looking forward to any update you can provide.
