Currently, every time a user pastes a link into a task description, comment, or Doc, ClickUp prompts them to choose between "URL", "Bookmark", or "Embed". This adds unnecessary clicks for users who consistently prefer one format over the others. Proposed Solution: Add a setting under User Settings > My Settings (or Workspace Settings) that allows users to choose a "Default Paste Behavior". Key Benefits: Efficiency: Saves time for power users who paste dozens of links daily. Consistency: Ensures all links follow the preferred documentation style of the workspace automatically. Reduced Friction: Eliminates the repetitive pop-up menu for those who only want the raw URL. Suggested Options: Always ask (Current behavior) Default to URL Default to Bookmark Default to Embed

I would like to have different permissions for different pages of a document, e.g. I only want my admin assistance to see certain pages

Good Day. We need document version control for attachments such as jpegs, pngs and videos. I know there is a functionality available for word documents. But we need this for all types of files too. We would like to avoid attaching too many versions of the same file to a project. This also was a feature that was previously available to us on Wrike.

In 3.0, there was an advanced tab where you could set the paragraph spacing on a document. I am not seeing that in 4.0. I would love to have that back instead of having to go through all of my documents and put enters after all the paragraphs.In addition, this is very helpful when writing where I'm going to copy the document into a newsletter email service provider.If I put the enters in ClickUp, then I have to remove the enters in the email service provider. So it ends up creating more work.

I'm proposing that Docs open like Tasks in that instead of them opening full page instantly, let them open in a Modal or Sidebar OR Fullscreen fashion. This serves two purposes: 1) Most importantly it imparts a more uniform UX across the platform. (Sorely needed in ClickUp as there is a lack of uniformity in how things function across the platform. Doubt the validity of the statement? Look at your smartphone, one of the most important design features are that so many of the navigation fucntions are system wide (And yes, even Apple is at falut wherein some instances things just don't work in one or two apps the way you’d expect them to...and they need to get their stuff in order too..) so many functions are the same. WHich makes nvigating for the user something that becomes muscle memory and intuitive. ClickUp breaks that time and time again. 2) It allows the user to more quickly look through docs without constantly having to go back to look. You can look at the list of docs, as you are hitting esc to close the one you just opened, and be into the next doc faster than had you been thrust into a full page scenario for each doc you want to look at. ADDITIONAL IMPROVEMENT in 3...2... It would be great and make navigation even faster if much like on Mac OS we could hit the spacebar when hovering over a Doc to have it pop open in the sidebar, and hit it again to close it. And if so then we should have the same method for opening and closing tasks. (I used to use Teamwork Project Management, and their task lists had V as a shortcut that operated in a similar manner. You'd hit v to open a task, and either click off the task or hit escape to close it, and it was lightning fast and made for a much more speedy navigation experience than that which ClickUp in its current state offers. (Having come from that platform, I truly feel like I'm in Valet mode at times in ClickUp.) (NOTE: The simple fact that when opening tasks in sidebar you can not close the task by simply clicking off of it, but instead must either move your cursor all the way up to the top right to hit the X, or use the Esc key...is another case in point of just how needlessly slowed down the UX can be. Let us click off to close. It can be wildly faster for those who do not keep their hands on the keyboard in the proper fashion. (I'd argue those people are already moving more slowly and need all the help they can to speed up their workflows...) Food for thought.

It looks like tables in docs have been slightly improved - https://clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/improve-tables-in-docs-big-time . However, still big improvements are needed: * Background color * Header formatting * More column width control * Cell merging * Center align tables * They still look ugly * ... I could go on and on At the very least implement something like Typora has - more control, more formatting options and rendering is quite good for markdown tables.

Using the prompt below, when I ask for one or more comments to be added to a doc, the AI confirms it's completed, but no comments are added. Workaround: Dump all AI output to a feedback doc (through a query to the AI) and manually copy and paste the comments. Not efficient. Workaround 2: Put inline text comments into the document. Hard to manage and hard to work through with a client. Potential Workaround 3: Use the document export / API to perform the commenting, but this has costs (AI token costs outside of clickup, and Clickup's export API is limited in formats where there are pictures / whiteboards etc). -- Basic commenting Prompt: Add a comment to the attendees for this meeting to ensure their contact details and profile are added for inclusion here. Response: ThinkingBrain A comment has been added to the "Attendance" section of your review comments page. Expected outcome The doc shows the comment in the comment bar for the comments added by AI. Actual outcome No comments added, but the AI states that the comments have been added: "A comment has been added to the "Attendance" section of your review comments page, stating:..." The link to the doc returned by the AI matched the original input doc. -- Complex commenting Scenario Prompt: Review the attached client documentation to ensure that it meets requirements for the readers and their jobs and expectations. Response: ThinkingBrain Comments have been added to the doc page, stating ... {details} Expected outcome The doc shows comments in the comment bar for the comments added by AI. at the relevant heading, sentence, paragraph. Actual outcome No comments added. AI states comments were added, but they were not visible.

ClickUp Docs can only be made public manually via the UI. There is currently no API support to: Enable public sharing for a Doc Generate or retrieve a public Doc link This blocks end-to-end automation for teams that create Docs programmatically (sales proposals, client briefs, AI-generated docs, reports). Request: Add API support to enable public sharing for Docs and return the public link.
