Tasks marked as done or completed should be removed from the LineUp
in progress

I am really liking the LineUp feature and use it to help create a shortlist of what I should be focusing on for my day. However, tasks marked as done currently still show in the LineUp which means I have to do in and remove them manually. That's an extra click that could be saved if tasks marked as done were automatically removed from the lineup!

Having to manually clear out completed tasks is one of those “tiny-but-annoying” things that adds up. 😅
Good news: this is
now solved
(kinda, hopefully, you will be the judge) with Personal Priorities
(the new version of LineUp)! When you mark a task as done, we’ll now gently nudge you with a toast asking if you want to remove it from your priorities — one click, gone. 🧼
Marking this as
In Progress
— Until all of you confirm it's done the right way in the Beta.R

Vasil Enchev what the difference? It is one click gone with line up already (click the clear button).
This request is to automatically remove them. I'm thinking change status to closed and it's gone. No extra clicks at all.
I think there should be a preference in settings to chose between - Don't remove, remove when done or remove when closed.
If you pick Don't remove, then you could have a modal ask you if you want to remove it when you close it, or to ask you if you want to close it when you remove it.

Vasil Enchev I personnaly like not having them removed automatically especially with teams view where we will be able to see that a team member has completed the task. Bulk remove on choice could be nice though

Daniel Schlichter, hence why a preference should be added! I can see people wanting to do this differently.

Vasil Enchev I prefer the confirmation approach. Sometimes I have Tasks that are "Done" that I WANT in Priorities. Would hate for them to be cleared out automatically.
Much prefer it confirms with a toast message.

Vasil Enchev The point was removing the amount of clicks, like adding a setting "If set to done/closed auto remove from lineup (yes) (No)" so people have it auto disappear. Also please add custom field to the card so i can track time directly on it with one click like other cards
Peter Atkinson
Vasil Enchev - I like not having them cleared automatically. Definitely agree with @Ralph Stokes that it would work as a preference.

Agree with this, right now its a 3 step process, drag to lineup, close, clear from lineup

If Lineup were re-thought as a designated "view" this would be possible: https://feedback.clickup.com/feature-requests/p/a-case-against-lineup-why-not-just-make-it-a-filtered-view

Please make it an easy option, not automatic. Sometimes you don't want completed tasks to disappear from the lineup, but when you click Clear in lineup, it should ask if you want the task completed.

I changed my mind, I disagree with this request. After using this for a while, I really don't think this is necessary. I like seeing after what I've done as a reminder, sometimes I have to actually tell a colleague or someone else that it was done, seing it is good and REALLY easy to erase with the erase button

3+ years later and ClickUp has made it clear they care more about artificial intelligence than actual intelligence.

Ash 5 years later. Insane looking at their roadmap and its all ai when the base product is the buggiest software in the industry. Like a car with tires so worn its sparking on the pavement and instead of new tires you add a new Gps nav system -_-

still doing this with 3.0 update. SO ANNOYING! huge up vote from me

Should be considered combined with the merge of LineUp and Minimize Tray. Perhaps it could be an option to automatically removed "Closed" items?

I agree.
Should be easy from a development perspective.
I would prefer to see this as some sort of checkbox instead of automation.
Chris Sheffield
Feel this could be a quick win in the product development roadmap. Even if you could create a new automation rule that a user sets up would be sufficient (i.e if task is in "lineup" and set to "complete" remove from "lineup")
