Improve the standalone Chat sidebar in 4.0

I'm on the new 4.0 interface. The new 'Home' button brings to too a combination of chat, channels and spaces/folder/lists.
I understand why you find it better to mix the two worlds, but I also would like to make a distinction between those worlds.
So I would like to have the option to add 'Chat' to the sidebar. It would move all chats, channels to live under this button and show a number next to the open chats, with an option to mute them as well.
If you don't enable the seperate button it will live next to spaces. Would love to see that split!

Hey, everyone!
Thank you for your feedback on the standalone Chat sidebar as part of ClickUp 4.0. We definitely hear you, and want to hear more about how we can improve this feature moving forward.
If you have a minute, please take this survey and help us shape the future of ClickUp Chat!

Not ADHD Friendly Interface Changes

Jennifer Zmuda
The new changes made to the interface recently are extremely unfriendly to people with ADHD. I utilize the chat function frequently every day to communicate with my team about specific projects and client accounts and it previously was streamlined and easy to see what chat thread I needed to go to, but now there's so much information all in one place and it's extremely difficult to find the chat thread I want to use to communicate to my team. Can we please have an option to customize this view so it's not so overwhelming and jumbled?
Brendan W
Jennifer Zmuda Hey there! Please try utilizing the sections under the Home sidebar, instead of the standalone Chat sidebar for now.
We have a separate feature request to improve the standalone Chat sidebar to be organized into sections, so I'll merge your post into that one!

organize chat left nav
Madison Shingledecker
Hi, when in chat it would be nice to have the option organize my left navigation by type of chat. Keeping Dm's and channels separate or organizing them in a particular order. Like we can in Home.

Chat separation in ClickUp v4

Hey :) it would be super nice to have separations in the chat navigation tab instead of having all of them in a simple list mixing DMs & channels randomly.

Chats On sidebar for easier access

Similar to Slack, where all the chats I’m watching are accessible in a drop down list on the sidebar menu. This would be nice because the chats are nested in each space/folder/list. It is difficult to get to each of them quickly and easily
Possibility would be to have a chat widget for the dashboard that pulls up the selected chats from the respective spaces/folders/lists so the user can customize their own chat dashboard.

Brendan W Hello, what is the expected release date for this update?
Brendan W
Pedro Itallo: Hey, there! No, not yet.
Unfortunately, we found some last-minute issues to resolve before we can begin rolling this out to users

Direct Chats In Sidebar

Allow us to add a "Chats" section in the sidebar where we can access the chat views from any list or direct message anyone privately. This essentially replaces slack if you can do it just as well without any lag in load time.

Based on how you worded the sidebar, questions from the survey. I wanted to also point out that if I have direct messages or interactions or share spaces with somebody, there was a way to have some type of notification to link me from the direct message to those other spaces I share. That there might be conversations in having that related information to that team member that I'm working with. That we might share those links and other channels that would be super helpful.

I just wanted to make sure you got that context.

Badge Count or Indication For Chat Messages Indication 4.0
V
Vincent D'Amico
If a new message is sent in 4.0, the total badge count should reflect your settings and appear on the left-hand side.
It doesn’t make sense to have a disconnect between messages. Right now, I have to hover over Messages just to see if something is new, which then shows a badge count inside Chat/Messages. At the very least, there should be some kind of indication. I would never have known i had received a chat message unless i manually click in.
Inbox gets it right, just not sure why no indication for Chat.
