Clickup 4.0, add chat to sidebar

I'm on the new 4.0 interface. The new 'Home' button brings to too a combination of chat, channels and spaces/folder/lists.
I understand why you find it better to mix the two worlds, but I also would like to make a distinction between those worlds.
So I would like to have the option to add 'Chat' to the sidebar. It would move all chats, channels to live under this button and show a number next to the open chats, with an option to mute them as well.
If you don't enable the seperate button it will live next to spaces. Would love to see that split!

In my opinion, chat side bar should look something like this, containing 1) Task comment threads/direct threads 2) Channels (groups) 3) Direct messages. It could also double as the inbox....

We are using the new chat feature together as a company this week and will be seeing more and more users on this feature.
However it would be really impactful to have the notifictions for chats and notifications separate. Chats are more time sensitive for us so it would better to see these separated.
At the moment, if I had a chat message, it would appear under "home" (green) with the icon with "8" to show me 8 notifications. When looking, I actually have 6 updates in my inbox and 2 updates in a message. Could it be possible to show the "2" chat updates under the chat icon as opposed to home (e.g. in blue)?

Sophie Slade Hunswick totally agree. I think we need an expanded Inbox as per my comment above.

Request: Dedicated Chat Notification Counter & Settings Toggle in ClickUp 4.0 UI
The convergence of Chat and Home in the 4.0 UI is understandable, as it centralizes focused work and priorities. However, grouping all notifications—including Chat and Inbox—under the Home notification icon makes it difficult for users to distinguish chat messages from other updates at a glance. Users must open Home/Inboxes to check for chat activity, which can slow down communication.
Suggestion:
Please add an
option to have a dedicated notification counter or badge directly on the Chat icon in the sidebar.
This would make new chat messages immediately visible and reduce missed communications.Recommended Solution:
- Keep the converged notification experience by default.
- Provide a toggle in settings so users or workspaces can choose whether Chat notifications appear only in Home or as a separate counter/badge on the Chat icon.
This flexibility would support both those who prefer a unified notification center and those who need clearer, more immediate visibility for chat activity, ultimately improving communication and adoption of the Chat feature.

Yes agreed on this. A [Chat] button like [Spaces] [Unread] [DMS]. Also it would be good to isolate favourites by having a [Favourite] button as well.
