We wanted to post an update that the ability to send and receive emails from ClickUp is just about finished!
Google has now given us authorization and we're tidying up the last pieces before its release.

I would love to be able to use this as well, it sounds awesome... but I got the NEMAIL_002 error with everything I try and the otherwise great team wasnt able to help so far. anyone else got this issue?

Hello. We use SPF(sender policy framework) protection for email. Probably we need IPv6 of your servers . Where can I find it?

We've officially released v1 of our Email feature in ClickUp! This includes:
- Automation to automatically send Email
- Signatures
- Templates
- Send and receive from any email address - two-way sync your emails in ClickUp
- Add comments and collaborate on Email threads inside of ClickUp

Zeb: Zeb please address the shortcoming with incoming tasks via email don't capture the email address of the sender. That limitation is preventing the use-case we've been hanging out for this, and it seems a pretty big oversight that this release didn't integrate with the preexisting email capability.

Waleed Elaghil: Also check if the mail is a forward.. to capture the original sender and not the forwarder.. im using automation emails on a list and this wil not work when there is no e-mail address filled,
so i want easily forward e-mails into tasks and the original sender should gets his automation e-mail message, and not me as the forwarder. (I think this also apply's to the Ticket system which already is in Planning state)
It does capture the Task Creator e-mailaddress but it does not capture the original sender, so the forwarder is the creator to ClickUp.. and with automation email i cannot select "creator email" to send, only "email" othewise i could create also automation email that looks for "creator e-mailaddress" but this is also not going to work if the creator is only the forwarder.

Is it possible to change the default email used when emailing in a task? It always defaults to the email I rarely use.

Love this feature so far. With gmail it's working great in terms of getting updates. Only issue is the signature doesn't format great, adding double breaks. Long term I'm in agreement with a comment or a few below about clickup being able to take over my work email so I don't have to even use gmail.

Makes sense to allow each user their own email account, rather than paying extra for email accounts - because they're using the email provider SMTP anyways, right? So what resources are being used? Isn't clickup just a passthrough?

I would like to have the possibility to create email lists, as I can create text templates. Sometimes I need to send an e-mail to a group pf people and I lose time to include e-mail addresses one by one.

Love the email feature! Is the plan to create the entire emailing experience in ClickUp? Is this thread's scope strictly 'sending email' functionality?

This feature doesn't quite go far enough for me.
My org will not allow mail forwarding outside of the business - so I'm not quite able to utilise ClickUp the way I had hoped with this feature.
A full mailbox integration would be best from my perspective. Whereby, if I have someone email a mail box held by my org, the email is automatically pushed to a ClickUp list - without the need for setting up a forward. Similar to Jira Service Desk.
