Filters do not work properly on GANTT
planned
Matheus Trombetta
I have 10 folders, 30 lists and 100 tasks. When I am on the workspace's gantt chart displaying a full overview of my department and I create any kind of filter (eg: assignee, priority, tags), it is supposed to display only the filtered tasks with their corresponding parents. Instead, Clickup shows every single Folder and List with their major timeline (but with no tasks inside) and it's really impossible to focus the analysis on whats is really important because there is lot of garbage on the screen. It makes the filter almost unusable.

I think ALL filters need some work. I keep adding filters to my views and then they stop working and start pulling in data I don't need. I'm having this trouble on my List views as well.

Yes, need this update! I need the spaces, folders, and lists to hide when I set a filter, not just show up empty.

Not almost unusable... totally unusable. Totally agreed. The Gantt filters need a lot of improvement. Glad to have found this issue and vote on it!
We use the Gantt view in only one list... to track our greenhouse production schedule. We sow trays nearly every day, and harvest up to three times a week. There are many different tray batches (tasks), many different task types (soak, sow, blackout, under lights, etc.), and a few destinations/delivery routes (custom label field). On the Gantt, there are hundreds of tasks at a time for each batch of trays, and it would be really nice to only see, say, broccoli trays, but when I use the search bar to filter for a crop name that's noted in the task name, I only see tasks, not subtasks. It's SO frustrating. Gantt view would be so much more helpful if the filters and search worked correctly!

We need to be able to view subtasks separately and filter them in Gantt. In all other views you can see subtasks separately and filter them. I'm marketing milestones within a project plan and some subtasks are marked as milestones but their parent is not. I need to filter my Gantt chart to just show milestones and these don't come through. This would also be really helpful to filter by assignee for someone who has a lot of tasks assigned within a project, they could see the Gantt view just for their own tasks or just see everything assigned to a specific team. As with other views, if you could see subtasks separately it would also be helpful to show the parent task name right above it for reference, without the parent task actually being its own task in the Gantt chart.

This is insane. So difficult to manage resources between the workload only showing a tiny slice of time (two weeks max) and the overall gantt chart being so bloated and not intuitive. Zeb, please shine a light on gantt features. They're so much more critical when managing a team than whiteboards.

Josh Peak: Hello Josh! Jumping in for Zeb here. Thank you for staying on top of this! There are no new updates on this post currently.
We'll be doing our best to update feature requests to keep everyone posted as we know more!
In regard to the time range options on Workload view. There is a feature request for this! I will post the link below so you can add your use case and give it a vote.

Dear clicckup team ... Could you start working on this feature. It is very annoying not to see filtered tasks on gantt view

Encountering same issue. I used custom tags to mark a bunch of tasks and use as filter on Gant view. However all folder and lists are retained, so I need to expand each of them to figure out the task was under which List. Pretty tedious.
