It would be extremely helpful if ClickUp allowed automations that update a parent task based on changes in its respective subtasks. For example, when a specific subtask (such as one for client review) moves to "In Progress," the parent task’s project stage (i.e., custom field) could automatically update to "Client Review" to reflect this change. Currently, the built-in automations are limited and require workarounds like using external tools (e.g., Zapier) to bridge the gap.

This feature would streamline workflows and reduce manual updates—especially for teams managing high volumes of projects. ClickUp could better support dynamic project tracking and improve overall productivity.
