Do Markdown properly

Markdown is not sugar over a mystery backend format. All text needs to be all genuinely markdown all the way. If I paste markdown from Github or wherever it should work (to the extent the markdown flavor matches). If I select text in ClickUp and paste in Github or Slack it should show up as markdown, not flat text with formatting stripped.

I'm glad I purchased the AI options, as I constantly write prompts like, "Rewrite this markdown text in a format clickup understands." Unfortunately, like other solutions, tables are not formatted properly using this method.

Guys, seriously! WHEN IS THIS GONNA HAPPEN?
It sucks to have to go through the import process to get a proper markdown file.

Especially for tables the current markdown spec is super bad, we use tables in our tasks quite a lot and when we use the
/markdown
command to import the markdown tables just are completely discarded and converted to the markdown syntax as if I'd just pasted it into some random wordpad document.Natalie Williams
Either I'm completely missing something or this is just a quirk of ClickUp, but every other app I can specify if I want
word
to remain as typed or to be formatted, but not in ClickUp. When creating SM content and wanting the *s to show up there's no way to do it, which becomes pretty irksome.Francisco Schulz
When is this gonna happen? It's really annoying!

I need this bad!
Most of my notes are in Obsidian and pure markdown.
It makes docs borderline unusable

First one to ask for this in 2024 I suppose! :/
Would really love to be able to use my own custom shortcuts / snippets / markdown templates via pasting in and copying out proper markdown.
