Dashboard Organization (e.g. Dashboard Folders)

Hi Everyone! In case you haven't seen the announcement yet, Dashboards are now able to be created in the hierarchy sidebar. This should help with organization a bit (e.g. you can create a Folder of Dashboards in the hierarchy). Currently, you can move Dashboard views to the sidebar and vice versa.
You cannot move standalone Dashboards (ones only accessible from the Hub) to the sidebar yet because of some technical challenges. But this is top of mind for me and I hope to tackle that this year.

Lily Chan thanks Lily, any sense of time before can move standalone dashboards please as at this point we are considering recreating them from scratch but they are big and complex so we really do not want to do this - our main issue with dashboards other than this is duplicating them or using a template ignores the drill-down columns so we spend an awful lot of time recreating the correct drill-down columns too

Anna Knoll Could you share more about what you mean by "Sidebar" for Dashboards?
You can now add Dashboards in the sidebar hierarchy, like you can for Docs and Whiteboards. But it sounds like you're looking for something different.

Anna Knoll
Lily Chan In the old version, it was very convenient that the sidebar (All/My Dashboards/Shared/Private/Workspace) was always visible when opening a dashboard. This sidebar immediately displayed important information. However, in the new version 3.0, this feature was removed. Now, when I want to open another dashboard, I have to navigate through several steps, which is quite cumbersome.
Would it be possible to reintroduce the sidebar in a way that allows you to open different dashboards with a single click and quickly switch between them without many intermediate steps?

Lily Chan
Anna Knoll Thanks for your response! We appreciate the feedback. Our innovations team is exploring introducing a sidebar to all Hubs - this is still in the scoping and design phase. In the interim, I'm going to merge your request into the existing Dashboard Organization feature request.

Dashboards folders a

Mohammed Qutaishat
Need to create folders and subfolders for dashboards (in dashboards main page) , this will ease organizing, maintaining, and updating dashboards.

Helen Gamage
Another part of this would be to allow you to see in the dashboard hub which ones are protected and be able to protect and unprotect from that location - I was trying to rename a lot of dashboards today - and I was renaming - it was letting me and then it was reverting - it was very frustrating - nothing was blocking me or telling me they were protected.

The solution below would be a great start. To be honest, even being able to put dashboards into folders next to lists (like we can with Docs & Whiteboards) would do the trick.

Hi Everyone!
I'm excited to share that we will be starting a closed beta for a feature called Search Cards soon, where you can create a dynamic collection of things all powered by ClickUp Search. We know this is not a perfect solution for this feature request, but we envision this being one way to organize your Dashboards on a Dashboard, so we thought that users who voted on this feature request may be interested in Search Cards too.
You'll be able to display dynamically updated results of different types of ClickUp objects and connected apps. You can organize things your way, and build your own collections of things!
Create a card of all your Forms, Docs, or Dashboards in specific locations. Create a card of all recently created content or GDrive files. And more!

Thanks!

Lily Chan I don't really understand how this will help me having my Dashboards organised.

Lily Chan it's a bit different thing tho :-) I wanted to have all the dashboard related to some group of spaces (let's say all the development projects) in one place.
Meanwhile, I appreciate the creation of the dashboards on a space level. It helps

Helen Gamage
Lily Chan - This might have its place but it doesn't help at all - especially as you will need to be able to find the dashboard mixed in with all the other dashboards that signposts you to all those other dashboards.....

Add Categories, tags or folders to all dashboards view in order to navigate easily

Philippe Feracci
In the "All Dashboards" view I would like to be able to find the same features as in any other views with (groups, columns, filters, "Me mode") and adding filters such as shared, private and workspace.
In addition, in order to improve the visibility of what data is tracked, I would like to be able to set a name to the dashboard as a concatenate of : Space - Folder(optional) - List(optional) - Name of the view. Otherwise, this name is field out and in the list, folder or space the same name is often too long and not UX friendly.
Also, I would like to be able to group by spaces (often HR, IT, LEGAL, etc.), categories or tags and add the referenced team in charge of tracking this data. Basically, I would like to be able to add custom fields in order to filter, group and search them to better understand all of my dashboards and what new one needs to be created or removed for duplicates for exemple.
Thank you very much for your help.
If you need anything, feel free to reach out.

Need folders for Dashboards or a way of catagorising them

Helen Gamage
We already have so many dashboards that users are struggling to find the correct ones, we need some way of grouping them or putting them in folders so for example we would have a folder for 'Product Planning' / 'Function Workloads' / 'Publishing Projects' (even split by Sector to break them down) - we will have 3 dashboards per project so this is 300 dashboards without all of the others - it is very quickly going to become unmanageable. We need to be able to break them down and open/close folders/categories to only see a few at a time

The new Dashboard View feature is great, but how can I migrate/move existing Dashboards to these views?
A user must be logged in to see a Dashboard, but a Dashboard View can be shared using a public link, so no login is required.
