Oh my God, that request is from 2018, I wasn't even married yet!!!
It's time to prioritize that, huh! It really sucks! Negative point!

It's the same topic, with a lot of comments.

It's almost 2025. It's been 6 full years since this most basic feature request was added and there's still no intention of adding this? I mean new features are great, but can we get a tiny bit more focus on the basics for once in a while. Please, don't let another year go by without fixing this.

Can't wait to be able to read numbers and currency correctly formated.

It is really annoying that the number format is only the US one (thousands separator with a comma) and not the European one (thousands separator with a period). When exporting data, you have to manually convert the format. Even though it has few upvotes on 'Canny,' it is a fundamental feature that exists in other applications dealing with numbers. Again, when I set the currency to € it should be consequent to switch the separators from US to EU format

Any update about this?
Niklas Bakenhus
Zeb, has anything happened in the meantime? Would really appreciate this feature.
Luci N.
Niklas Bakenhus! When you create a Money Custom Field, there is the option to select your currency format. I'm including a screenshot! If you are looking for something different, please let me know!
Niklas Bakenhus
Luci N.: Hi Luci! Thank you for your reply. But by “format“ I actually mean the thousands separator (1.000 instead of 1,000) and the decimal separator (1.000,00 instead of 1,000.00).

Luci N. Can you please reply to Niklas on the comment of 26th of january 2024?
Luci N.
Hey, Niklas Bakenhus and Sidney Corrêa Junior! Thanks for the clarification and your patience while I looked into this! The product manager would like to look into this further. They will update this request with any new details they have to share!
Diogo Luiz Miranda
Luci N. +1 one for this. It's quite complicated to work with a system that cannot show numbers and currency in the correct format for the country/language/currency selected.
This should read R$ 1.000.000,50, the way it is "just wrong". Most users have a hard time trying to understand numbers, and please use space after symbol for readability.
Alex Nascimento
Diogo Luiz Miranda horrible that. Not being able to adjust currencies to local formats.

When you guys put it on, don't forget about applying to formulas too! Thank you

And please allow a setting for formating currency, like there already is for time and date. We in Europe use points for thousands and comma for decimal separation.
