Yep, it's a no brainer to add 'convert to task' to the comment ... menu. Otherwise I feel like I'm steeling people's ideas rather than building on them.

Please! This is so common scenario. Client writes comment, but often it is is change request, or the task is getting complicated so we need to have possiblity to create new task from existing comment. It should be easy to implement.

Please! This is so important and so simple. It works when I compose new comment, but does not work from existing comment.

Scenario - client adds some comment to existing task. But there is part of it which actually is not related to current task and we need to create new task from it. So I want to select some text from existing comment and create task which will use that selected text as Description of new task. Also it should create relation/link to those two tasks.

@cubes 2048: yep, I agree with your idea. creating task from comments will bring many benefits for us.

I think this feature would be great. I also think that being able to create multiple tasks from a line of comment would be great too. The way how I envision is to have a delimiter such as ";" act as a way to separate the texts into different tasks.

Comment to task or subtask would be useful, indeed! :)

I would love to see this feature! Our team is moving from Slack/Asana to solely ClickUp for our messaging and task management.

Slack/Asana talked really well together. If there was a message that needed any action, it was easy to click on the message and create a task from that message to go into an Asana project.

Would love to see this feature developed. We chat about the tasks and every few comments we'll reply back but then need to duplicate it as a task. It'd be great to create the task from the comment.
