Configure location on dashboard level
planned
Ward
When working with multiple clients or teams, it's often useful to reuse dashboards configured to the context of that specific client/team. Because the location is set per widget, all widgets must be reconfigured after duplicating a dashboard. It would be useful if we could define the location/context of a dashboard also on dashboard level.

Dynamic filtering on dasboards

It would be great if there were an option to dynamically filter the entire dashboard by a list/folder/location without having to uncheck them in each widget. Right now there is a something looks like it should do this but it is not pulling in any data for me (could be a bug?). See picture attached.

Set unique location as data source for all cards in a Dashboard AND Multi-select cards to change data source locations
Daniel Urbano
Currently, if a have a dashboard at Folder/Space level or in dashboards section and I have multiple cards, is really painful to change locations for data source having to do it card by card. Instead, we should have an option to change data source location(s) to the whole dashboard, applying that data source filter to all current and new cards that might be created in the future for that dashboard.
Probably this could come as a dashboard setting like toggle on and off "Same location for all cards". When ON this would activate the ability to set the location at the top when in 'edit' mode and block the data source selection option in all cards. If you then toggle it OFF, the opposite should occur, making it possible to edit back again locations in each card from last changed location from when the toggle was 'on'.
Also, we should be able to "multi-select" two or more cards to change the data source locations for multiple cards at once when the "Same location for all cards" toggle is 'off'.
This will be game changer for Dashboards in ClickUp and also will support making easier to duplicating dashboards or creating one from a template.

Hi guys, please take a look at this idea. This might be a stopper for many clients and probably one reason many clients haven't moved to ClickUp yet. Some other providers already have something similar to this.

Daniel Urbano: I'm merging you request in with an existing one called "Configure location on dashboard level". We are actually working on scoping this - we understand it would be a huge time saver and improve the usability of Dashboards.

Whole dashboard location

Offering whole Dashboard location settings the same as you offer whole dash filters would be very helpful.
I have 12 cards on a dash that link to a location where clients are constantly changing. So each time I need the information captured on that Dashboard, I need to update the location of all 12 cards.

Make it simple to change all the "Locations" for all the widgets on the Dashboard
Lucas Martin
Problem: When I create a dashboard to track our weekly sprints I assign the same "Locations" (The current sprint) across all the widgets . I would love to be able to update the "Location" for all the widgets so I can reuse the same dashboard for multiple sprints just by changing the location for all widgets once

Hey guys
Just starting to get into dashboard - big miss that you can create a dashboard for one (or multiple) locations - but you cannot change this after creation.
Having to go and change every single card is not reasonable on the user.
There should be a bulk change options for editing location, just like when creating the dashboard.

We don't do sprints, but I have the same issue. We create new lists in our set of spaces for long-term projects. Half of my dashboard needs to stay consistent with all lists in all spaces, as it's a snapshot of total workload, which the other half of my dashboard is a sum total for each space. Any time we add a new project (list within a space), none of my cards add it automatically. I can definitely understand why some people would like this behavior, but I can think of a couple ways to make it better.
1) Like mentioned above, have a global field for Locations and then each card can either point at the global field for that particular dashboard or a static set of Locations as defined currently. This would act very similar to the whole dashboard filters.
2) A toggle (either in the card, dashboard, or global settings) that automatically adds new Locations added in the tree of Spaces, Folders, and Lists that have been selected to include all. For instance, if I have a Space that has everything under it selected for a card, a new list within a folder or at the base level of the Space would automatically be added to the Locations list while a list added to a Space where only a subset of Locations are selected would not automatically add the new list.
Even if I had to update the Locations every time a new list is added, this would be much faster with a Dashboard-wide Location filter. But much like the current filters, I'd need to be able to filter more at the card level.

Hi Becki Deaton - We have a location filter in the dashboard filter. is it possible to leverage that for your usecase?

Hemant Kumar: It does help for some of it, thank you!!
