Automations Manager

A single place to manage Automations. Browse existing, Create custom, Apply to single and multiple lists, folders and spaces from one place & manage usage.
I have 1 automation that I want to apply to roughly 20 lists, this is a real pain at the moment.

It would be so helpful to be able to see all automations a dismissed employee is in.

This would be amazing! In my team we are managing many projects simultaneously, so it would be a huge time saver not having to add new automations manually to one project at a time.
Kayleen Standridge What is the timeline for this feature to be completed?

Hi Team! We are planning to add more and better functionality for updating Automations!
Here are some items we are working on:
- One modal to see all Automations and to look at different levels of the hierarchy
- Copy Automations in the same location (other locations to come)
- Refreshed UI
- Filter Automations (Already in Production!)
Please let me know if you have any suggestions or requests!

Kayleen Standridge: Please add the ability to edit automation descriptions from within the automation, instead of only from within the list of automations for an area.

Kayleen Standridge: I really need two things in automations to really help me achieve things that I just can't do at the moment and would be nice to see these added as part of this update.
- The automation trigger needs more flexibility and complexity. I imagine something like an excel formula;
WHEN((a OR b)AND(c OR d))
At the moment there's things we want to automate that we just can't without being able to do something like that.
- One automation trigger to map to multiple outputs.
WHEN custom field changes
Then be able to map all the options configured in that custom field to differing versions of the same THEN action.
As an example we have a custom field for our account managed clients (52 options) and what I need to be able to do is set the applicable account manager as the watcher depending on which client was selected. We're constantly adding account managed clients (and account managers) and would like to configure this automation all in one spot instead of having to have multiple automations configured.

Carson: I 100% agree I was having issues just creating the descriptions of the automations I would also like to be able to title my automations so I can see which is which right now they just all say almost the same stock phrases based on my IF then statement.
Andreas Otto
Kayleen Standridge: Please ensure that triggers for the automations can be triggered from ALL views. Changes to deadlines via Gantt View, for example, currently have no effect.

Kayleen Standridge: It would be super helpful to allow the creation of "Bulk" automations (several automations at a single click from a table) and to copy existing automation and only update the required field (instead of filling in all the fields from scratch)
Oleksandr Zalishchuk
Kayleen Standridge: Please add ability to rearrange the order of existing automations.
For instance, when I create automation to create subtasks based on certain criteria, I would like to be able to reshuffle these automations to control what sub-task will be auto created first, second etc.

Kayleen Standridge: I would love to see the option for "or" as a conditional trigger.
Separately, have such conditions or actions be connected to custom fields in different areas.
Overall, I'm just looking forward to have more flexibility and connection between spaces/list/fields in Clickup to make it more powerful.

Wow, first brought up in 2020 and now still relevant in 2023 (and consistently supported over the years). ClickUp, please give this to us. Even on a small team, this would be a huge boon.

Something that would be essential for us is the ability to restrict who can create, delete or edit automations, and ideally not have this be all or nothing (i.e. certain job roles can edit but not create, others can create and delete and some have no access). It's surprising this doesn't already exist and I would think this is essential to any larger company. There's a lot of risk with all users being able to create and change automations.

If ClickUp wants to make this product used by cross-functional professional teams in a company, this is a MUST.
In contrast, if their goal is to stay as an alternative cool tool for small teams; we'll probably not see this feature for the incoming years.

It would also be really helpful if there was a Red Caution Icon beside any Broken Automation to indicate which Automation is broken.
It would also be great if the Automations Mananger would show you all your Automations in your Workspace to check to see if all Automations are working and display any that need to be fixed.
