Daily rollup of all chat messages for archival

For those of us in a regulated industry, we are required by law to archive electronic communications. This would certainly fall into that category. A simple fix for now would be a firm wide setting that sends rollup emails of all chats, to an email address of our choice.
Even better would be an auto cc of every chat but we can live with the above.

Hi Brad Anderson - would a export functionality suffice? What type of archival needs do you have?

Brendan W Hello Brendan, its a tricky item to solve. Finance is very picky. We need to push these messages into our global archival system, which indexes them, makes them available for legal searches, etc. One method we have done in the past is to have all messages generate a notification email, and force that on regardless of user preferences. We have this go to a special email address so it doesn't annoy the users. The simplest solution from my vantage point would be a setting at the firm(database or whatever you call the whole account) that we can just put in an email address and have all chats create a notification at all times. Basically like a BCC in standard email
Right now we have to turn of the chat as we cannot seem to keep people from suppressing their email notifications. Human nature and all.

Brad Anderson Thanks for the additional context!
Firstly, it sounds like this feature request could help you control the notification settings of your Workspace users - I recommend going and upvoting it if you haven't already: https://feedback.clickup.com/feature-requests/p/set-notification-settings-for-users-as-an-admin
Secondly, definitely understand your use case and the sensitivity of having all that data kept on hand. By default, we don't delete any data but are soon releasing a data retention setting for Chat you can customize to delete or not delete data. In the future, we're also planning to support exporting of the Chat data in bulk and allowing custom permissions for who is allowed to delete messages or comments in the Workspace.

Brendan W Thank you! That retention option would be very interesting to explore when its a good time. That might also provide a path that works for us
