Chat Channel email address (send message via email)

Every chat channel should have an email address for forwarding emails to it automatically. One of my use cases on Slack is an OTP channel which receives forwarded emails with OTP codes. Need to have a way to replicate this in ClickUp Chat.

Hey, everyone! We're excited to share that you can now send/forward emails to a unique email address to have it appear inside your Channels!
Just right-click a Channel in your sidebar or access it from the settings - each email address is unique to the user who generates it, and possibilities for email automations here are endless!
Let us know your feedback as you try it out - thanks! 😊

Brendan W Thats great, thank you! Have been waiting for that. I see that the whole mail text is just posted withour formatting. Would it be possible to just show an small expandable preview of the mail that can be opened with proper html formating?
Pranav Bhatia
Brendan W I could not forward as the verification email code from gmail isnt reaching the channel and hence I can't add the forwarding

Please enable following functionality in channels
Alex Moya
- send email to channels
- allow to embed channel in any web using channel id as parameter (including capacity to write messages)
- allow tools like zapier, make to automate messaging to channels (without using api)
(We'd love to leave slack to use clickup channels when having all the functionalities)

Send/Receive Email in #Chat

Be able to send chat as an email just like we can with the task comments. Receive replies in thread. Then any email related to a task can live in CU.
Example workfow: Automation to send canned email to clients, chat with team about client reply, any team member can reply to client in CU, client receives email reply.
Email is already built in tasks, so I'm hoping it's not too hard to show in #chat? I am addicted to the new #chat experience and I want all my communication there... :)

It is annoying the fact that you seems to be ignoring user request. Send email to a channel or have a Incoming Webhook is a high demand feature and I see that Clickup team is ignoring by not providing it.

We're back to working on this! Stay tuned for more updates

Brendan W Awesome to see this. Also, for the incoming email into the chat, is it possible for the email to be presented in chat box with similar formatting that the original email had. When using zapier and other tools, I felt the email message formatting went for a toss.

Hey guys! Do tools like Zapier not suit your use case?
Joshua Frost
Brendan W We REALLY don’t like using Zapier. It feels clunky, unreliable, and overly complex for something that should be simple. There’s lag, limited access to ClickUp chat data, and too many moving parts that can break or misfire.
A native ClickUp feature would be far more efficient, secure, and easier to manage. We’d much prefer an in-platform solution that just works without the need for extra tools or maintenance.
Matt Atherton
Brendan W - How would you propose using Zapier to get an email message into a specific chat channel in ClickUp?
Rick Mirsky
Brendan W - I second the sentiments of Joshua Frost. Zapier, Make, and the like create extra noise and "clunk". It's just another thing to break. It's like putting a glass vase in front of a window to protect it from breaking. An internal integration, or in this case a feature, creates seamlessness that things like Slack and GChat have.
We aren't all going to use it just because its a clickup feature if it doesn't accomplish what we need. Building out features is great but the biggest failing of Clickup as an ideology I believe is the belief that "they will use it because it's built in! Everyone loves a built in! It doesn't matter if its perfect it just needs to be built in!".

Brendan W Its really sad to see this being deprioritised, this is a must have.
Brendan W
Pranav Bhatia: Hey Pranav! We're trying to figure out when we can revisit, hopefully very soon!

Brendan W Thanks :)
