Support for proper IMAP email Integration
M
Matt Ruston
.An imap client should specify the following information to connect to and authenticate on an imap server:
1) username
2) password
3) server IP
4) security type ... for example SSL/TLS
5) the auth method ... plain or cram_md5
6) port ... for example 993
Clickup does not request all 6 of these items and as a result is not able to my imap server.
Could click up be modified to make these attributes available on the mail setup page so that it works with imap servers.
The attached screen shows the field currently available to not allow effective integration with IMAP.
Email - OK
Username - Missing
Password - OK
IMAP Host - OK
IMAP Port - OK
IMAP Security Type - Missing
SMTP Host - OK
SMTP Port - OK
SMTP Security Type - Missing
Password Auth Mechanism - Missing
Because of the missing elements, it is not possible to integrate with some IMAP servers.

I have an mailserver working on my cpanel and when I put the imap server and imap port 993 and smtp port 465, check the ssl checkbox it seems to work, I can then select who I want to be able to send emails.
However, when I go inside the task and try to send an email it stays faded and after 1 minute I get the attached error (invalid input syntax for integer: "pending_comment") and I cannot find anything related to this error to debug it.
I really cannot tell if this is a problem from Clickup or my server and what should I do.
When I try to connect to this email from my apple mail client it works fine.
Any help is welcome!

Cannot connect my account either - my SMTP server required username and password authentification and security is TLS - so crickets...

E-mail setup has no username field
Paul Becker
When setting up an e-mail account there is no setting for an username which makes it unusable.
This is a standard feature of 99% of all e-mail clients so I don't think this fits under feature request but is rather a bug report.
Here are some feature requests talking about the same problem:
Also I have contacted support about this already in february and the issue was handed to the dev team then. Please stop bringing new features and start fixing the stuff which was released in a kind of beta version.
Thank you!

Email Clickapp: Adding User Name
Naya
My two professional email-addresses need a "username" to funcion over IMAP. There is no such field so I simply cannot connect them. This phenomenon (that you have to input email address, user name, passwort and then the server etc.) ist common with hosted emails, either through your organisation or through your hosting provider when they host an email too.

Hey, there!
Thank you for reaching out about ClickUp adding a username to our set up process!
I have moved this over to the Feature Request section. Here, it will be viewed by our fabulous Product team. Being that this is something that would need to be added to our existing platform, it falls under the Feature Request category.
Thank you again for your input!
