Initially, I'd like to be able to send emails from a task from the Mobile App, just like from the web version.
Secondly, it would be ideal if ClickUp could manage all the emails for a team, so we could collaborate on replies and follow-ups, organize incoming and outgoing emails, set up automations, and so on.

When you downloaded an email into the task, it came with all the signatures and bumpf that completely clogged up the task with useless crap, this is a major issue. It needs to only pull through the pdf's which have relevance. Also sending emails directly from the task through the mobile app, the mobile app is very limited.

Do you hope to replace your mobile email app fully, or do you just want to be able to send emails from within Tasks like you can in ClickUp web?

Joey Thanks for looking at this again! In our use case, just being able to reply via email on mobile would allow us to more easily interact with forms. Right now, if an external user submits a form and we're on mobile (e.g. ticket on the weekend) we have to go on a computer to be able to reply to this user. We have many stores and employees that submit forms, and allowing us that do after hours support to more easily reply to forms would be a huge boon for us.

We've implemented a full Service Desk within ClickUp and utilise the send email from tasks function to reply to users (and receive responses).
Unfortunately as we can't from the mobile app, this leaves someone always tired to a computer.

Joey The best option for us is mailing from the tasks in ClickUp mobile app. We tend to keep all our mails inside ClickUp and assigned to the tasks.

I fully agree with what has been shared so far. I’m not looking to replace my mobile email app.
The real need is to send and reply to emails directly from tasks in ClickUp, keeping all communication clearly tied to the related task or ticket.
For those using ClickUp as a service desk or ticketing system, email is a core part of the workflow. Right now, the mobile experience is limiting: even for quick replies, you’re forced to switch to desktop, which breaks continuity and slows response times.
Proper email support in the mobile app (sending, replying, threaded conversations, ideally with support for multiple SMTP accounts) would significantly improve responsiveness, operational continuity, and overall support quality, especially when working on the go or outside office hours.

Joey I've found that there is less friction when I email clients directly from project tasks, rather than getting them to log into Clickup and comment directly on tasks. I'm predominantly desktop-first, but being able to email from the mobile app would be a welcome addition when I'm away from my desk.

Joey thanks for looking into the feature request! We’d love to be able to send emails from within tasks like you can from the web app. Quite often we’re out on the road needing to communicate with suppliers, contractors and clients about jobs (our tasks), and we want to keep all communications within the job so everyone has visibility, so having this functionality would be really helpful.

Joey For our business, a full replacement would be ideal! It's great to be able send and receive emails like the web, but our team is replacing more and more with ClickUp.
One thing that would be incredibly nice that isn't possible in the web app currently is when someone emails us, to take the email, attach it to an existing task, and then be able to continue to send and receive emails from within ClickUp. Right now, it seems to only be possible if an email was started from within an existing task or if a new task is generated from an email. You can send an email to the task, but you can't continue it within the task (at least not that I've been able to see). One workaround is to copy the email address for the task and to reply in to the email chain, and hope that everyone hits reply all with each email, but that's somewhat clunky (and external vendors have no idea what the random email address is).

Joey it would be best if we could only use ClickUp for email with. We use front.com for customer service management now (also intercom.io), but if you solve that you can assign Mail, team inbox, private inboxes, save contacts that don't work now (very hard), easy to use on mobile and get a great inbox view like front.com. If you solve it, we could definitely pay extra for it.
