Joey An MVP feature finally made it into version 5, congrats on catching up to real world user needs.

Ross McConeghy Seriously.
I love clickup with all my heart and also hate it with all my heart. The mobile app is barely functional with all the missing features of the web app.

Joey So we can link existing tasks but is it not yet an option to create a new task and link them in the same area or am I missing it?
Austin Hodges
Terryia Davis It's just completely bugged and doesn't work 😄

Joey looks great. Quick question let’s say there isn’t an already established relationship… will that relationship card still show on the bottom even though it will be empty and still give us the option to add a new relationship or rollup?
As well can we have the option to drag and drop where we want the cards to show? With some task I want to see the relationships before ALL the custom fields and not scroll throw all the custom fields just to reach the relationship section all the way at the bottom?

As well can we have the option to drag and drop where we want the cards to show? For some task I want to see the relationships before ALL the custom fields and not scroll throw all the custom fields just to reach the relationship section all the way at the bottom? This is key as different information is important to us for different task.
And why not have a relationship tab next to activity and details on the top there? Just like the computer I figured it would be faster for us to hit a relationship tab there at the top then having to scroll all the way down.
Can we have the option to customize those tabs? Maybe turn on and off activity tab and same with relationships tab depending on “task defaults” or a template?
I currently don’t know what the templates do now as I don’t see them very helpful.
When we click into a task, all that viewing information should be fully customizable and independent from other task in the same list, As well as independent for other views with the same list.
Example:
List Name: States
Task 1: Flower
Task 2: Fruits
When clicking into a task I want to save different viewing templates for different task even though they are on the same list. I might want to see different information on Task 1: flowers then I do for Task 2: fruits
as changing the “task default” doesn’t contribute to that. Nor does templates for what I can see.
In Coda you can apply any saved template to ANY task you want without it effecting the task in another view.
Example: we have 3 saved templates, 1 original list, 2 task in that list. 3 different views linked to the original list.
Saved Templates: ABC, CBA, BAC,
Original List Name: States
Task 1: Flower using template ABC
Task 2: Fruit using template CBA
Now I create a Board View
Board View: States
When I click into Task Flower I want to display template BAC not ABC even though they are the same task, I want to view different information according to my filters.
Doc view: States
As well when adding that same ClickUp list “states” (I should be able to change the name without it affecting the other/original list name) to a Doc it shouldn’t affect the view of the original list even tho they are connected.
Coda Handles this very well.
P.S everyone there is awesome. I love the product and service.

Could we at least get an estimate release date? I’m onboard with those saying they’re fighting the urge to migrate to Notion. Having an estimate in mind could help.
Ross McConeghy
In v3.0 task view there is an indication that there are Relationships but when I tap them to try to view them it shows 0, like there are none.
Relationships are one of the fundamental functionalities of ClickUp that make it useful, especially in the mobile version. I would argue that in the most common use cases being able to navigate related tasks in the mobile version is even more important than the versions used on desktop.
I can't comprehend how this feature wasn't considered to be critical for the MVP.

Love that related docs now show up as attachments in mobile tasks. My whole novel writing system relies on docs that are related to tasks and now I am happy to report that I can use it on mobile! The other relationships will still be nice to have but this was a key unlock for my use case. Thanks team!

This has been in progress for just about a year, and TBH this is the main reason I'm finding myself inexorably using Notion and migrating more and more of what I'm doing into there. Relationships are key to any kind of structured data workflow, and if it's not on my phone I won't use it. It's honestly weird to me that this doesn't have more votes.

Robert McKay: Hey Robert, we may have put this as In Progress a bit early but I am happy to explain where we are at and why it has taken a while.
With ClickUp Mobile 3.0, we aimed to solve a lot of customer problems around UI/UX. We also wanted to add core features like this one to mobile.
As we built Task view 3.0 on mobile, we had a lot of UI/UX challenges and speed optimizations that we put above adding new features for the initial launch. We actually had Relationships in the app for a bit but it didn't function well so we limited it's functionality in favor of improving the rest of the Task view for now.
But now that it's out the door, I have an engineer building out the new Relationships flow which also includes a new task picker screen. This is still being worked on, so I appreciate your patience, but hopefully we can ship something soon (aiming for a release by end-of-year if all goes well).

Joey: Thanks for this explanation. I appreciate these inside looks for things like this.

pixojoy: You're welcome!
Software development is hard but I want to make sure you all know we are thinking of you each step of the way!
We also want these features as we use ClickUp mobile every day internally, so we benefit when you do! 😊

It will be helpful if the tasks & subtasks relationship can be created in the mobile app.

This is really needed cause the idea is to get everything possible automatized.
