Read Only Mode

We do a lot of documentation on ClickUp, and often have to refer to them on the go. But the edit more is so easily toggled due to misclick of fingers that is actually frustrating, will really want a toggle read only lock so that I can browse the content easily. Should be easily implementable? This feature exists on most doc editing software like Google Docs.

Notes - Less Clicks and a widget
J
John Zealand-Doyle
I just want to make a quick note!!!!
By the time I've opened the app, created a "notepad", created a note, intelligently named the note.... Then wait for an approval from the server to create the note with nothing in it.... Now, and only now, can I write down the quick thing I wanted to note but guess what.... I forgot it.
Thanks.
This is not hard to get right!!!
Step 1. Open app.
Step 2. Create note. And DONE!
you are on a page that has the title but you can enter the actual note immediately.
Even better.... Create a widget, just like you did with create a task (this widget kind of sucks in action tho). In this case
STEP 1. CREATE A NOTE. DONE.
it's just that easy. You can send my consultation cheque in the mail.

Upgrade mobile Note taking capbilities

video recording, audio recording, on image annotations will push clickup to be better than Evernote as a note taking app. you can add to that Audio transcribing(converting to a written note), Audio and video streaming(playing the video inside clickup).
As an the app to replace other apps, clickup should work on this part, you already have advanced clips, and you have audio, you have image comments, which can be the base of the annotation, but I imagine for real not taking scenarios, annotation with text, pen, and comments is the ultimate annotation pack.

An option to, clean up interface, only for docs and notes taking. Not lists, tasks etc. Like a standalone notepad option.
And an option to search keywords from documents

Better Process for Capturing Quick Notes
S
Shreyansh Jain
Notepad is supposed to be their in 5 seconds whenever I need it but with clickup, it's a very bad experience in mobile.
The text editor takes atleast 15-20 seconds after multiple clicks to create a note. Many ideas are lost because flow cannot be achieved.
Ask (Android Oriented; IOS users please correct me whenever required)
- Quick add note button on widget and Android quick settings panel
- Ability to assign shortcuts via Samsung goodlock app or routines (eg: Swipe down-inwards from right edge to create new note, etc)
- Fast loading of text editor of notepad like Google Keep, etc

Notepad improvements on mobile
Guy Mannerings
I really feel like the Notepad could do with some big improvements on mobile:-
1. It takes 7 taps to start creating a note.
Seven! 8 if you include opening ClickUp:-
- Click "Create". 2. Click "Notepad". 3. Click "create new note". 4. Type the note name. 5. Click "Create". 6. Click the "edit" button. 7. Click in the notepad to expose the keyboard.
It should just be "create note", start typing, maybe with a title option in there as well. So max 3, possibly 2.
2. Fails offline.
Because of the whole "having to click the edit button" thing, creating a Note does not work when offline or in a bad signal area.
This is a huge problem for ClickUp mobile in general - it affects Task Descriptions and Docs, too.
3. Notes move themselves around and don't match the order of Desktop notes.
Been a problem for years. A new note can end up anywhere in the list. Note order is also completely out of order with the desktop order.
New notes should universally be at the TOP. or at least a user setting/be able to choose the order.
4
. No way to create voice notes.
Can we get voice notes in notepad?
5. Click and hold icon to create note on Android
Not sure if you can do the same on iPhone, but the ability to click and hold the ClickUp icon to create a Note, like we can with Tasks.

Is there an update on this?

CU Doc Mobile View and Edit Quirks
Andrea Darth Flader
We have tables in our ClickUp Docs and there doesn't seem to be a way to edit those tables within the CU Docs on mobile.
Viewing a CU Doc on mobile also is a little difficult because it's not responsive to a smaller screen, it just stays big. Would be great to be able to adjust that if needed.
And lastly, when viewing a CU Doc on mobile, there is some information that stays pinned to the top of the window within the Doc, but it covers the text of the Doc beneath it.
Joey
Thanks! We will consider it.

Joey hero! My team is completely remote and on the go often, so having mobile features fully usable is super important. Thank you!

Improve the speed of editing Task Descriptions/Docs/Notes
e
eero häihälä
First it takes several seconds for it to load the body, after which one has to press the edit button and wait a few more seconds. Most of my text bodies are empty, after which the next most common type is like a tweet's worth of text, I don't get why it works well on desktop but is dreadfully slow on mobile.
I do have an older phone, but it runs most of clickup just fine and can browse the web just fine, it's literally just editing the body texts that takes annoyingly long.
