Exciting update!
Now you can directly submit Forms via our mobile app! 🎉
Here's how:
- Access a Form from Favorites or location level.
- Tap 'Open Form'.
- Fill & Submit! ✏️
Quick tip: Favorite your most-used Forms on the web app for faster access on mobile.

Form view shows a blank page
R
Rayssa Adao
When accessing Forms through the views bar (Space > Folder > List > View), the app shows a blank screen because it can't render Form views inline.
A blank screen with no guidance isn't a good experience.
The app already redirects to the browser when used the Favorites shortcut of the form view, so it should do the same (or at least show a message/button that would redirect the user) when navigated through the views bar.

Make Forms Fillable In-App
Tom White
Currently forms are "usable" but redirect to an external web-browser. Forms should be directly fillable within the app.
Our use case is that our office staff use desktop to handle data flow, but field guys all gather data using the mobile version. Mobile needs some attention to make data gathering less clunky.

When I click on view form on mobile to fill out, it goes to landscape mode which is a pain to fill out. Can you please update the forms view so it stays in portrait mode. Thanks!

Help me understand your field team’s workflow: when they tap a form on mobile and it jumps out to the browser, what’s the biggest snag they hit? Is it slow loading, losing their connection or drafts, awkward photo or signature uploads, or something else that makes data gathering feel choppy?
Tom White
Joey The company I represent is a medium sized grain/cattle farm. We use ClickUp for project management and data analysis.
Administrative staff are overall much more proficient with technology than are the field workers. ClickUp is branded as an "everything app for work". Our goal is to have a single app where all data is gathered, using as few steps possible to achieve this.
Example workflow:
Cattle managers must use a form to track doctoring, pasture moves, feeding, births, deaths, etc. In order to accomplish this, currently they must:
- navigate to the correct form within the app. Home>Space>Folder>Form (this step is removed if the user sets the form as a Favourite)
- change view from List to Form (ideally we would be able to set the Form as the default view on mobile)
- click a button to open the form in another app
Ideal workflow:
- user selects the Form from Favorites section
- Form is immediately presented within the app and can be submitted directly
Any instance where a user has to leave the app in order to accomplish data collection represents a bottleneck in workflow. A primary difficulty in accomplishing effective data collection in the field is that workers are in a "live", "dynamic" environment (such as handling cattle, horses, or working with equipment). For this reason, the fewer steps required to get that data into the app, the better.
The current workaround is to have the web form installed as a home-screen app. However, this still requires leaving ClickUp mobile to find the form on the home screen.

Joey: Exciting news! Unfortunately I just tried testing this and it tells me "Whoops! This view is not supported yet..."
Is there a step I need to take to push the update?
Joey
David MacKenzie: Hey! It should work as long as update it from the App Store / Play Store. Can you check and make sure its up to date?
How did you attempt to open the Form? (Favorites, view selector, etc.)
David MacKenzie
Joey: I missed the update step. Duh! It's working now. Awesome to have this feature available - Thanks to the team for bringing it to life!
Liz Francis
Joey: I had the same issue as David, but when I went to check for an update in the App Store there wasn’t one. Anywhere else to push through an update?
Joey
Liz Francis: Hey! Besides fully closing the app store and reopening it, I am not sure. Apple sometimes sends updates out in waves, I would check later today :)
Lukas Moser
Joey: why always half baked features? Its only the web browser embedded. It is getting so frustrating
Joey
Lukas Moser: Hi!
When we were considering building this feature on mobile, I jumped on a call with several customers who voted here.
After speaking to them, I noticed a theme where almost 100% of the customers needed a way of quickly filling out forms in the app without keeping the public form links elsewhere and using their mobile browsers.
This was needed for filling in HR form submissions when employees are away from laptops, quickly creating tasks in an organized way that offers more fields than mobile task creation, and filling in information for appointments while on-site in a way that looks identical to being at the office.
This solution solves those use cases, where the vast majority of users that I spoke to wanted an easy way to fill out a Form in the app.
If you all come back and tell me you want to create forms or edit them on mobile, then we can consider that. Please let me know if you see any opportunities for us to make this better for your use case! 😊

Joey: When tap on "Open Form", With ClickUp app internal browser (on S23), the attachment button doesn't work but If I open the link in chrome/edge/etc. It will work. Solve the bug please.

Joey, I'm not sure I fully understand. I can't seem to fill out any forms in the app at all. Is there something I'm missing? I got to where the form is located, click the button that says "Fill out Form", then it opens a web browser. Is this the intended behavior?
Tom White
Joey
All this does is open a web browser with the form. It's not fillable within the app.
Joey
We are in the final stages of testing this feature! You will soon be able to submit Form submissions right in the mobile app! 🎉
Stay tuned!

Joey: Can you elaborate on timeline? Trying to decide between Airtable and Clickup, and can't continue with ClickUp without this feature.
Joey
Brendon Willis: Hi!
We found a few bugs in our final QA testing that we are fixing as we speak. Our goal was to get it out this week, I will report back if we are able to get it out the door!

Forms on mobile devices
MSHA
The best place to use forms is on mobile devices (phone, tablet) so that our field service and sales forces have a simple and fast way to upload a new task, a to do or even share with customer.

Yeah this would be super helpful for things like logging a contact on the go into my CRM... client calls me back, walking the dog... I forget to log it!
