Create task on ClickUp mobile from a file, photo, video, etc. (document scanner)

This way you would not have to go through such a slow process to create a task with an attached file; process that first consists of downloading the file and having it stored on the phone, then looking for the ClickUp app to create a task and from there selecting the typical "paperclip" to attach the file, to finally have to go look for it in the place where it was I stored so I could attach it.
It would be much more agile and efficient, that once the file is open, from the share option the "create task with ClickUp" appears within the options and thus create the task immediately with the file already attached.

"Scan document" option for upload attachment on mobile (apart from regular pic taking option)

can you please add a "scanning the document" option into click up mobile app in the upload attachment apart from regular picture taking as uploads. Scanned sheets are low in size and also allows for turning it into black and white for clarity
Joey
What would this help you accomplish in the mobile app?

Joey Hi Joey
The seamlessness of thinking freely/spontaneously on paper (I get to be free with my imagination when i think on paper) and inter-weaving this as a scanned capture into the tasks, helps me seamlessly navigate ongoing thought processes into my workflow and makes me efficient.

And thanks for asking!

Creating a task on ClickUp mobile directly from a file, photo, video, or scanned document would significantly improve productivity and streamline workflow efficiency, as users would no longer need to manually download files, open the ClickUp app, create a task, and then attach the file separately through the paperclip option. Instead, integrating ClickUp into the phone’s native share menu would allow users to instantly select “Create task with ClickUp” while viewing a file, automatically attaching it and saving valuable time, especially for teams handling multiple documents daily. This feature would function similarly to how users can quickly share links or files to apps directly, such as sharing useful resources like https://gtasandresapk.com/ as an example, where the link or file could be instantly converted into a task with full context. Overall, this enhancement would make ClickUp mobile more efficient, reduce friction in task creation, and improve document management for professionals who rely heavily on mobile productivity tools.

Creating a ClickUp task directly from a file, photo, video, or document scanner on mobile would significantly improve productivity by eliminating unnecessary steps such as downloading files, switching apps, and manually attaching documents; integrating a “Create task with ClickUp” option in the native share menu would allow users to instantly generate tasks with attachments already included, saving time and streamlining workflows, similar to how platforms like https://fifejammers.uk/ enable quick content sharing and instant updates, making the overall experience faster, more efficient, and ideal for professionals who rely on mobile task management and real-time collaboration.

Add document scanner function to mobile
Julie Runez
It would be great if “scan document” was an option for attachments on phones and tablets.
Joey
Do you know of any good examples of this in other tools?

Hi Joey,
This is an option with most email providers, and it's very handy. It's an option on my phone with both Outlook and Gmail.
Currently, Clickup will at least offer the option to take a photo as an attachment, which does the trick slightly less well than the scan option, but it only works with Apple products, not with Android. We have an iPad in our shop that the guys use to create change request tasks for our engineers. They can use a form to create the task, and at the bottom of the form where it asks for an attachment, taking a photo is one of the options. But, all other devices in the building are Android. We purchased the iPad specifically for this functionality with Clickup, but now every change request has to come through that one device.

Any time you are given the option to attach a file, a scanner function should be one of the source options on mobile devices. Camera is already one of the options on my apple devices, which isn't as good as a scan, but better than nothing. Android devices have nothing at all.

Scan Docs in the app:
- As an option in the “+attachment” of each task which adds scan to the task
- As a global option in the “+” menu which creates a new task (ocr to guess task name?)
Exactly like the Google Drive iOS app scanner, or the apple Notes app scanner: https://mistergrizzly.medium.com/scanning-documents-with-vision-and-visionkit-on-ios-13-913c0a6f9392
PS. Please allow multiple pages in one doc!!

YES! This would be a everyday use case for me.
My ideal workflow: Use the iOS Widget to create a task and scan a doc as pdf (incl. OCR) directly in the task.
Or, create an iOS Widget (and whatever it is called on Android) to directly scan a document into a new or existing task -> task name = scanned file name
