Hi! We have been working on a new layout for the ClickUp mobile app, and have begun rolling it out to select users. 🎉
This new layout offers:
🏡 A new Home that is focused on Chat and highlighting your most urgent things, including items due Today or Overdue.
🧾 A new My Work page (called My Tasks) that is simpler and prettier than the old My Work, with an area just for your relevant Lists, and much more.
✏️ A new Creation menu experience where you can immediately start typing to draft a new task, ask AI a question, or send a chat.
🎥 An Apps page (being updated soon) that offers you quick access to Docs, Dashboards, Forms, or Clips in your Workspace.
and dozens of updates to Chat, iOS badge (soon!), a new Inbox experience, and more!

Hi,
Joey really liking the designs. The idea around the combined experience being accessible by swiping down on any page appeals to me in particular. I think it optimises the UX, saving the need for a button. My general feedback is that, it places everything I want in thumbs reach (which is important to me) and it doesn't require extra clicks/taps to reach any of the features I'm using now. I like it and I'd be happy if that demonstration was the direction ClickUp progressed with.

Shreyansh We have to roll out slowly right now because we are aware of some bugs that are quite frustrating. I promise it will come to you soon, we just have to make sure the quality is there and that it won't slow you down!

Joey Why so much focus on chat up top over much more valuable things that
must not
be missed - items due today, overdue, coming up, etc?I would much rather have My Tasks items up there up-front-and-centre - Due Today, Overdue, Upcoming, etc - as they are
so much more important
."Inbox" notifications already covers all those chat buttons and their notifications, so it's unnecessary to have these big buttons up top.
They take up valuable space for more important things that
need
to be visible, and shouldn't be hidden behind other button presses or swipes like they are right now.Also, things like Due Dates don't have notifications like Chats do, so nothing pulls our eye to them right now. - Another reason they should be up-front-and-centre.
It also really doesn't make sense for individuals, or people who don't use chat, solopreneurs, small teams, etc.

On my Android app, I can not enter into the description, I can not write a note and I can not enter into a Doc. I can add a comment. This is frustrating.

Joey, I don't allow anyone to access my workspace. Am I the only one experiencing this? Can your team not replicate it?

JTK Hi! If you file a bug, you don't have to give permission to your Workspace. Filing a bug helps our team diagnose and track the issue. We are not seeing the same issue as you but when you report it, we can connect it to similar reports (if any) and find out why this may be happening to you.

What if the chat list was on a right panel on revealed on gesture similar to how the existing 3.0 App has the left panel for home.

Joey we currently use a mix of Slack and CU chat(some team members like the clarity of more directly accessing chat threads), and there seems to be an opportunity for more direct access to just Chat here. it seems to mirror feedback I've seen and agreed with for the new 4.0 update of home on the web/desktop. I believe there's a new mockup that's been shown off where there's an additional icon in the side bar for direct Chat access to address it.
There's usefulness to the Home approach with a mix of chats, folders, lists, docs, whiteboards, etc, in custom groups but there's also a lot of noise when I want to quickly access messages. So there's also definitely usefulness to accessing messages quickly, especially when you're like our workspace and have multiple groups (business subsidiaries and clients in our case, each with their own home list custom groups) all inside of one CU workspace.
I think the main benefits are the speed of access to chat no matter what else you're doing in the app, saving 2-3 taps and some scrolling, depending on where you are in the app (caveat, I havent gotten access to 4.0 on mobile yet so I'm basing this on your mockups and my current feelings on Home in the web/desktop version after about 5 weeks of access)
It's an additional surface area that feels untapped.
honestly that surface could be used for another use case but chat seems like the most helpful based on our teams experience so far (a day calendar could be another useful option), especially if the direction of chat started to include additionally chatting with different AI agents inside CU similar to how Taskade handles multiple trainable AI agents (how they handle them is super cool btw so worth checking out for that aspect), which is something I've mentioned in AI/Brain feedback threads in Canny and probably another whole topic. (got really positive feedback from the CU team based on that share)
Happy to go deeper on that idea here if it's useful.

Personally I’d like to leave the text “My Work” instead of “My Tasks” as we also manage projects and other work types besides tasks inside ClickUp. This seems to suggest this is only a task management software which in my understanding is not the direction of CU. Also making the suggestion for the new sidebar panel in the 4.0 UI as well for the same reason. Tasks are only a part of what’s in there.
Unless CU is pulling back from that idea.
