Slack thread reply previews in ClickUp show the wrong "Replied to" parent message
April Slisar
When I paste a link to a Slack thread reply into ClickUp, the preview shows the wrong parent message in its "Replied to" line.
Steps to reproduce:
- In Slack, copy the link to a reply inside a thread ("Copy link" on the reply).
- Paste it into a ClickUp task (description or comment).
- Look at the "Replied to" line in the preview.
Actual: "Replied to" shows a message from a different thread in the same channel.
Expected: "Replied to" shows the thread's actual parent message, which is the message identified by thread_ts in the copied link.
Impact: The preview attributes the reply to the wrong conversation. Anyone reading the task gets the wrong context and can be misled unless they open the link in Slack to check. This happens to me often, not just once.
The Slack link format is https://<workspace>.slack.com/archives/<channel>/p<reply_ts>?thread_ts=<parent_ts>&cid=<channel>.
