It would be great if ClickUp could work as a third party email app so that you reply, forward, compose, etc emails inside ClickUp and retain the organization of ClickUp.

If this is the case I'd HIGHLY recommend a look into Superhuman (layers on top of gmail, outlook). I consider it the ClickUp equivalent in the email client world.

Agree - much needed

yes. just a simple one. I use different email apps on my desktop and mobile devices and it is very convenient to quickly read and write emails on any of them and have them synced via IMAP to my email provider. I do not want an integration with outlook or gmail as the interfaces are regulary changed by MS or google and this is a disruption of service. the imap protocol is standardized and reliable
Also I am forwarding many emails now to clickup so I can assign them to tasks and not having this extra step would be a huge time saver

@Markus: you should checkout Superhuman. ClickUp is on their roadmap for integrations!
Markus
@Alexander McArthy: Thanks Alexander. I will definitely check it out for my general email use. But for my clickup related taks I'd prefer and integrated solution with imap protocol following the 'one app to replace them all'-vision

This is something I've been searching for a long time now.
The Clickup plugin for Outlook is a great help, but it's much less comfortable than a combined task/email management.

I think this is a great idea

I think this is a wonderful idea. To make it practical, I thought I would give an example.
I currently use Zoho CRM, and its iMap integration with Outlook works a treat (also works with Gmail). This way you can send an email from Zoho CRM, however it is actually just routing through Outlook using iMap.
Perhaps this is a good solve?

Why 'Under Review'? Stick to core functionality and let other apps do what they do best. ie. Let's get O365 and GSuite compatibility happening.
Dawid Ziółkowski
@Luke Burrell: Not everyone want to use O365 or even Gmail. Native email client is much better than any integration because it plays such important role in workflow of many businesses and it will be quicker, lighter, more convenient etc.

I assume this is related to:https://feedback.clickup.com/feature-requests/p/send-email-from-clickup just curious why one is under review while the other is planned?

I agree with the deep integration concept. I think we want all the advantages of having e-mails integrated with ClickUp, but I would prefer the flexibility of not having to completely switch over to ClickUp email. I think of ClickUp as an extension, a layer that can sit on top of your existing email and allow you another way of managing your existing accounts (important that any sync should be 2-way). I’d rather that than a completely separate solution that I would have to switch over to (switching might also be impossible depending on the organization). Hope that makes sense. :)

hive.com has a nice solution that way. It might be a good "inspiration"
