It seems odd that you can't format specific text within a text box. Simple ideas such as bolding text is not a feature. Making some text smaller or larger is not a feature. The whiteboard is missing so many customizable options.

I’m having an issue where I can paste text onto the Whiteboard (it creates a new text), but I cannot paste into an existing text box, even when I’m editing it (cursor is active).
Tried refresh, different browsers, and plain text paste but still not working.
Is this a bug or a limitation? This makes editing content really inconvenient.

Rich text formatting just shipped to production! You can now use bold, italic, strikethrough, and bullet lists in text boxes, sticky notes, and geo shapes via the floating toolbar. Thanks for pushing for this — your votes made a difference.

For me, there are a few quite important pieces missing:-
- We cannot change the font size of individual lines.
Right now, an entire Sticky Note must have the same size text. This is really limiting.
Are you able to make it so each line can have different font sizes?
- We cannot highlight text and give it a background colour.
- Similarly, we can't use banners.
These were all options that were available before the move to TLDR.
Is there any chance you can bring these, otherwise it limits things quite a lot, particularly in Sticky Notes where you can only have one set of formatting and can't do a cheat fix by using different blocks.

Guy Mannerings: yes I'm with you. We have a separate task for font sizes that's already WIP, and I'll track your request for other styling separately.
Sounds like you'd basically like the full range of text formatting from Docs/Task editors in whiteboards?

Alex Omeyer (ClickUp) strikethrough is not an option in the Rich Text format box in the whiteboards. My app has been updated as of May 01 and I can't see it on the web version either.

Zach - ClickUp Alex Omeyer (ClickUp) Noticing the toolbar update today to add bullet points, etc. Nice! Thanks for that.
One thing - could you reduce the indent of bullet points on sticky notes? Right now, you don't get much text to the right of a bullet point, so they become very long. This is not helped by the fact we cannot resize sticky notes on width-only. So it would be helpful if you could reduce the indent from the left.
It should still have an indent, but I think it needs to be very slight for sticky notes.

I can no longer tab to create an indent with bullets or numbers in a sticky note. Tab just creates a new note.
Is there a new way to indent these? Or am I being an idiot?

Why can't you adjust the text size in the desktop version? It's such a basic item. It's so easy in the broswer version ctrl+"+/-", why not do the same in the desktop version?????

Is there any update on this? I find whiteboards are no longer useful when I can't have different stylized text in one sticky note or shape. The lack of header and body text in one note really kills readability. Now that the old whiteboards are read only, I've had to move on to other software for whiteboards

Zach - ClickUp Not sure if this is the right place for this, but resizing text boxes does not work as expected - or, indeed, like pretty much any other program I have used.
When you resize a text box in ClickUp whiteboards, it ALWAYS scales the text too. So everything just gets bigger.
What this means is there is no way to resize a text box vertically or horizontally only, whilst keeping the text size the same.
It should work so that if you scale horizontally or vertically, the text size stays the same, and words move up or down lines.
Then, if you scale from the corner, THEN the font size should increase as well.

We have this partially completed! You now have the ability to use text formatting if you know the keyboard shortcuts (like ⌘+B for bold on Mac for example)
I'll complete this feature request once we add buttons into the toolbar as well.
But go ahead and try it out!

Zach - ClickUp I noticed this if I paste formatted text in. 👍
One thing to note: Bullet points don't respond to standard keystroke use of Tab and Shift+Tab when using Sticky Notes.
Tab would usually do another indent level for bullets, and Shift+Tab would go back a level. But, instead, it creates a new Sticky Note.

Guy Mannerings: It will not have all the formatting options from last time. This new rendition is more performant and way less issues than the previous one. Ideally we can add more formatting options, but it's highly unlikely that it will include as many as before

Will they automatically get Rich Text Formatting options that are released by TLDraw, or do you have to add them in manually?
I notice they now have different font sizes per line and highlight. Highlight seems to work on paste in to ClickUp, but not different font sizes per line.
I think really the only thing I would miss after that point is Headings use and Banners, if those might be able to be thought about by the team that would be ace! But understood if they will kill performance for some reason.
Anyway, like you say, Whiteboards are now SO MUCH BETTER! 🔥 Great work!

Yes, we'll be able to get some more formatting options added in the future. We have only enabled a few so far but are not limited to adding more. Just need to make sure the toolbar UX is delightful and helpful for everyone.
