View-only member in Teams

We would like to be able to organize our view-only member in teams.
Currently, when assigning a team, the member will be converted to a limited member thus taking up a whole seat.

Yes, we need a view-only licenses type for internal same domain users. We have this with a competing product SmartSheet offering unlimited viewers & Guests. Asansa & Wrike have the free viewer/commenter access.
The growth oppty here is admins could import all employees with view only especially in large enterprise organization and as those users experience the view only - it can incentivize conversion to full members. This also reduces a barrier to entry of "oh I cannot include this person because they to do not have a license".
In large organizations C-suite may/will not adopt CU, also in larger organizations change management is slow.
