Loom Video Import to ClickUp Clips
With Loom's recent acquisition by Atlassian and the significant price increases for basic clip recording, many users are looking for alternatives. This is a great opportunity for ClickUp to offer a Loom import feature for ClickUp Clips.
MVP / Quick Win:
As a first step, simply allowing users to upload existing video files (MP4, WebM) directly to ClickUp Clips would already solve the immediate need. Loom lets you download your videos, so even a basic upload-to-Clips option would give users a migration path right now — no API integration needed.
Full Solution (longer term):
A dedicated Loom import tool would make the transition truly seamless:
- Bulk import of existing Loom videos (not just one-by-one)
- Metadata preservation (titles, descriptions, timestamps)
- Automatic re-linking of Loom URLs embedded in ClickUp tasks/docs to the imported Clips
As Loom users look to move away from Atlassian's pricing model, ClickUp is perfectly positioned to capture this audience — especially since Clips is already a capable native alternative. Even the MVP upload option alone would remove the biggest friction point for switching.

Merged in a post:
Make it able to upload files from computer or google drive. And add an option where you can record yourself talking in a little circle in the corner also like Loom or Zoom.

I enjoy this feature but unfortunately, I cannot add any other videos from other sources to be able to organize best.

Hey there T-Shirts Etc. West Houston! I've added you as a voter on our Canny specifically about the being able to record yourself via your webcam here: https://feedback.clickup.com/feature-requests/p/webcam-in-clips
Just so we can capture true demand/vote counts for that specific functionality. For the idea around uploading, I'll be merging this into a relevant idea thread.

Had to download a clip because I recorded it while on a slow internet connection and it never finished uploading. This feature would have allowed me to upload my local copy of the clip I literally recorded in ClickUp.

You can't edit a video using clips - which I understand - but not being able to upload a finished video makes no sense. You want your AI to be the "go to" AI, but you won't let me import and process any videos made in another platform?!? So in my KB, I have to make all videos directly into clips with no editing available, or use an external provider. This is a huge oversight that should be remedied. Judging by this thread, people agree with me...

To be honest this feature is very simple for Back End and Front End developers since the infrastructure is already ready for that. I wonder why it's not done yet...

It’s important for users to move from other applications like Loom and keep videos in one place. I vote for it too!
P.S. Also, +1 point to start using ClickUp too.

We too would like to be able to upload videos to Clips for internal use and to be able to share them with customers.

Wanted to use this again today. Clips are better now that it is available in the desktop app. The ClickUp website says that it can replace loom, but there are still a lot lacking in clips.

My main reason for wanting this feature is because I want the ability to add timestamped comments on videos that I (or my clients) have created outside of Clickup.
Since the videos in the Clip Hub allow timestamped comments on them, it'd be great to be able to upload videos to the clip hub so we can add comments to them. That said, I'd also be happy if we could just upload videos to a task and add timestamped comments on those videos.
