Use a Formula Field in another Formula Field
in progress
Karl Heinz Frankeser
I feel link the formula field is really restrictive, I wanted to multiply all values by 5 and could not do that, also why can't I take a number field and add it to a formula field to nest two formula fields into one calculation?

Hi everyone! We have completed development and are starting our internal QA review process to test and confirm everything is working as expected. Barring any issues discovered in testing, we hope to start rolling this out by the end of the month. Thanks!

Caroline Ginty are we getting any improved logic like greater/less than options? If this value, then set other field to that?
Caroline Ginty
Ryan Lindsley Not in scope of this feature, but this IS in the works as part of support for using Formulas in Automations (https://clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/add-formula-fields-in-automations)

Caroline Ginty that's awesome! Can't wait to try that.

Caroline Ginty Will this enable us to use CONCAT to combine two field values?
eg. CONCATENATE('field("Custom Field Value 1")', ' ', 'field("Custom Field Value 2")').
Right now you can only CONCAT certain standard fields.

Caroline Ginty any update?

If anyone can share the update and tentative dates when this feature will be available?

Agree Karl Heinz Frankeser - I just want to make a simple formula $value divide by $value, and view it as a percentage... Nope, can only view as a $ value... Please help me, ClickUp dev team! Only way I can currently do this is the manual percentage, and that is clunky and risks errors.
So, what would be AMAZING would be to view a formula result as a percentage, OR (not sure if I'm pushing the friendship), the ability to view a formula result as a percentage and/or even as a PROGRESS bar.... BOOM! Then even calculate the formula or percentage at the bottom! Drop the MIC!

If this belongs in a different feedback page please add it there, but I've had a similar issue with Cards on the DB (which I know is newish). There is a "calculate" custom card type, but it doesn't allow you to select 2 different items to calculate, at least not values from other cards or fields. For example, I just wanted a simple card just showing the % of someone's workload assigned over a 40 hours week (ex: seeing that someone is 120% allocated) - I have their allocation in another card to reference and I'd like to have the option for a variable to be either from another card, a field (like total completed tasks), or a custom value. Should also be able to choose the function (+, -, x, etc) and symbol for the results ($, %, decimal or not, etc). Loving getting to customize my DB and it's so close to what I want, i just need to be able to have some custom calculations now! Thanks

Caroline Ginty That's great news Caroline! This would go perfectly with Table View v3 as right now this is the biggest shortcoming of Clickup to me. Here's to hoping 🙏 ....

Caroline Ginty Looking forward to this — thank you!!

Caroline Ginty Do we have any ETA for this? This is something very crucial to our team.

Merged in a post:
Possibilidade de utilizar o resultado de um campo de fórmula, em outra fórmula
Giovane Caon
Olá, gostaria de poder utilizar o resultado de uma fórmula, seja utilizada na fórmula de outro campo de fórmula.
Por exemplo em uma planilha financeira:
Campo 1 (Dinheiro): Faturamento
Campo 2 (Dinheiro): Despesas
Campo 3 (Fórmula): Lucro R$ (Campo 1 - Campo 2)
Campo 4 (Fórmula): Margem de Lucro % (Campo 3 / Campo 1)

This is what I posted in the FB group. I hope this is covered in the formula overhaul 🤞🏻

Caroline Ginty - when is that planned for? timeline?

Caroline Ginty This should be an extremely high priority, as one of a few issues with Clickup holding up adoption company-wide where I work, and this one missing feature in particular might lead to us dropping Clickup completely. I'm sure many other medium-sized companies have the same issues.
This and color coding columns/rows/cells are seriously the two things management obsesses about, and what stops us being able to persuade them from adopting it because "if it doesn't have basic features it must be trash".
