AI billing per user
not on the roadmap
Nikita Kozhemiakin
Currently, there's no option to enable AI tools for specific users only, and some users might not need this feature at all. Please consider introducing a feature similar to GitHub Copilot integration: the organization is billed monthly for the number of seats selected for given users.

Hey Everyone, we appreciate the continued feedback around this request, and we understand how a wall-to-wall AI add-on can make it tough to justify a big upfront commitment. We're soon moving model where AI is included for everyone on your core plan (with some free usage), and any additional spend is tied to extra usage rather than access. You might have all users using AI or just one or two AI power users - either way your spend will be tied to value. Let us know if you have any feedback on this new approach to AI billing.
That said, I'm going to mark this request ask for "AI billing for specific users" as not on the roadmap.

Rajiv Tirumalareddy Will it allow us to control it so certain users can not go over the free allotment if we want? Or will we be able to set some type of budgeting?

This needs to be an add on feature per user, which the option to turn it off completely. With as hot topic as AI is and some organization not allowing it at all, rolling it as a feature required for some levels, even free, is a risk. I need the ability to have this off for certain users, and turn it on for others at certain levels, or I will not be able to use it. That's money out of your pocket. Why this can't be done and one quickly is so odd to me. Just enable it. You already have the technology there with the add on feature for some of the customizable options with the AI add ons. Just enhance it further.

Please just make using AI as a user right and don't limit this to enterprise or the higest plans. If you will allow us to moderate who can use AI, peope will nautral start using it and work faster. I'm business owner I want to control who is using the AI tokens as I'm the one paying the bill.

Rajiv TirumalareddyHI, what is crucial is that some people should not be able to use the AI. So the option should not be available to them. Esspecials in Enterprices because of legal and all the risks impacting this. You cant tell 1000+ people to not touch that button, the button should not be available for them.

Rajiv Tirumalareddy Can you elaborate on "soon"... ?
Shams
Rajiv Tirumalareddy , appreciate the update, but usage-based billing and per user seat control solve different problems. This thread has been asking for governance.... knowing exactly who has AI access and paying only for those seats. Usage based billing doesn't answer that.
and putting this away from the roadmap while the core need remains unaddressed feels premature. i really don't know why the main request is being ignored for over two years.

Allow AI to be billed for individual users instead of all users in a workspace

I am the only one on my team that uses the AI tool. I'll be losing it next week because no one else on my team uses it, so the company doesn't want to pay for it. I would pay for it myself out of pocket to keep the feature for myself, but since it is a workspace feature, I cannot do that.
I think this is poor planning. For companies like mine where there is one person that acts as the ClickUp administrator and could have many other users that don't use apps or even know what they are, what should the company be charged PER USER for apps that only one user takes advantage of?

Everything AI Bundle - All Members Forced to have a Seat?

This is beyond frustrating.
All my clients want to use ClickUp Everything AI bundle, but don't want to pay low activity members to have a seat who will not be using the AI tools.
This really is a huge bummer because certain C-Suite level executives want to use it and be more productive, but we won't be able to.
Or, we have to convert everyone to a guest... Which is not ideal for productivity AT ALL. I now have to switch between my account and my clients account to manage work.
ClickUp, DO BETTER.
Sincerely, someone who loves you very much.

Absolutely, think of all the time that an administrator could spend managing workspace members instead of creating the work environment.
Please allow, the AI tool to be paid by member. Thank you

Just adding my two cents here - my organization just veto'd my ability to buy this add-on because it is an all-in feature. I only need it for a few users. The reality is I may now have to wait an entire year for this, which is a huge bummer due to all it could do for my team and I. Hope to see this come sooner rather than later!
