It seems that the opportunity to undo the previous action is only available briefly, while the "undo" pop-up is visible. It would be helpful to be able to undo previous actions using some on-screen button. Users may also be accustomed to using Ctrl + Z to undo previous actions.

Hey everyone!
Just an update here to keep you all in the loop.
We're continuing to add support for undo as we continue to ship improvements to the product. We recently added the ability to undo actions taken on Inbox, and in addition to that you can also redo/undo actions taken on Whiteboards. We've still got a lot of work here ahead of us, but here's where we need your input!

+1 vote here...The title of this thread is spot on. "Undo actions at ANY TIME with Cmd + Z." (Cmd + Z for mac). Every app I've used in the past 20 years comes out of the box with undo/redo for at least 15-20 levels. ESPECIALLY for basics like typing, copying/pasting, creating or deleting a new item... I'm using ClickUp for the first time - considering moving over from Airtable, Monday - but I'm feeling like I've stepped back in time 20+ years by not having this functionality. (As a side, it's beyond odd to me that the development team wants users to survey/identify what they'd like undo/redo functionality for. Is the title of this thread not clear about that? Everything. If prioritizing is necessary, maybe start with the very basics - data creation and deletion, then expand from there.) For me, this lacking feature is big enough of an issue that I'm really considering keeping my business with Airtable/Monday. Unfortunate.

It would be great to be able to undo placement of tasks. ie tasks becoming sub tasks unintentionally

Would it make sense to create a separate feedback item specifically for the behavior of undo/redo when one or multiple users are editing a text file? This is my main gripe, but it sounds like this thread is more about undo of clickup-specific actions.

I'd like to see both undo and redo with regards to marking task as complete or changing it's status to the next stage.

For me the issue is I can use undo (Ctrl + Z) but no redo (Ctrl + Shift + Z) at some fields (task editor mostly). Tested on Firefox, Chrome using Linux and Windows 11

Thanks for soliciting the specific feedback Brendan W! I have appreciated the slow implementation of "undo" functionality across the different features within ClickUp. Here are the top three wants I included in my list on the survey:

First priority: Being able to undo when I accidentally delete a filter in a Dashboard card.
Second priority: being able to undo merging tasks when I accidentally click the wrong task to merge to.
Third priority: Being able to use the keyboard shortcut to undo deleting a task instead of having to use the small modal popup.

Ctrl+Z is incredibly basic and for it to be missing is really egregious in a program like this.

You should give all the whizzbang AI stuff a rest until you've got the basic things up and working.

Any word on this from ClickUp? I had several accidental clicks yesterday which changed stuff in clickup and found now way to undo it. I immediately tried this common command and nothing. Clicking undo in Edit did nothing.

It seems the function is there, but doesn't work. Is that right? I know I can retrieve deleted tasks and lists, but I'm talking about accidental clicks that affect data in tasks.
