Too much white space
planned
Doug Sinclair
I can't see as much description and checklists on the task as I used to. This new layout is a negative development for me

Too much whitespace on dashboards as well. Can't make the cards smaller than a certain amount, even if there is only one record on it.

There should be a way to adjust this
So much wasted horizontal space

The checklist is hidden and requires too many clicks/scrolling to view. Would like to see less negative space and allow the sections to be movable so we can decide what we do and do not see.

I've hacked in some style improvements based on my own style preferences.
It brings back some layout + style decisions from 2.0 clean theme (of course with limitations). Feel free to check out. Screenshots and Browser setup included in readme - https://gist.github.com/jbjhjm/a7b3c47421d0da2fd59a81c3e3fa83b4

Jannik Mewes Thank you for this!! I was wondering if there might be something like this out there.

Alix Kieser well now there is :) gonna update the gist from time to time if I find any improvable quirks. Right now it "kinda feels" like the Clickup layout I know, happy with it.

Can you guys fix full screen mode too?
In tasks 3.0 full screen only expands the white space, but doesn't give any additional working space.
For comparison look at how docs work.
If I have a table in a doc, it expands into the white space margin.
That used to be how full screen tasks 2.0 worked, too.
In tasks 3.0 the margin stays wide and cuts off the table.

This is a huge problem. I will be switching my company away from ClickUp if this is not fixed soon.

I agree. I had to leave ClickUp with 3.0.
Too much clutter, too much wasted space, not optimal to work on laptops
I tried but unfortunately my brain would go into chaos and overdrive just looking at the screen trying to focus. There's too much distraction on each screen. My eyes get pulled in so many different directions, vs keeping things simple.
The option to hide or have minimal content/buttons/bells and whistles could fix this. Focus mode.

Marcelo Troncoso: focus-mode sounds like a great idea

Marcelo Troncoso I love this idea of a focus-mode. I find that I need more vertical white space and less horizontal white space for the EXACT reasons you describe. You're not alone here!

Almost 30 to 50% of the vertical real estate on the screen is always fixed which has 70% blank space. I need to work in the remaining 70 - 50% screen at the bottom which is annoying AF
