Today & Earlier - Start Date Filter

Please create a "Today & Earlier" filter for start dates. Start dates are used in our company (and many others) to show that a task is now available, and can be worked on. We have our team save a "Favorites" view called "Today's Tasks" that includes all tasks with a start date before tomorrow (today & earlier). The only problem is that we have to use "Pick Before Date", which means the team members are forced to pick a new date every day, which is a pain and is sometimes forgotten. Attached are two screenshots of possibilities when naming the filter.

Totally agree. Also having this issue here. Left in another post the idea, to filter certain days backwards. Like "last month" or "last 30 days" or "this year". Thus giving the possibility to see which tasks from a certain period are still "open"

Am I missing something, or is there no way to create a saved filter with a date field (say, start date) with a value of today or earlier?
This is my goto sort condition, and currently I have to reset it every time I use the list view.
For example, if I want the grouping of the tasks the same as in the hierarchy, then I create the filter manually with the date field set to before tomorrow (without using sorting).
If I want the grouping by date, then sorting works perfectly (tasks with date today and earlier are grouped within the sort, each with its own group).
Btw, this example shows why, in my opinion, sorting should actually be another property of the saved filter.
