The Timeline Custom Field is very cool, what would make it cooler and more useful is if you could change the way the information renders...specifically:

Start only, no time | 27 Aug

Start only, with time | 27 Aug, 9am

Same day, different AM/PM | 27 Aug, 10am-1pm

Same day, start has minutes | 27 Aug, 10:30am-1pm

Same day, same AM/PM | 27 Aug, 9:20-10:25am

Date range, same month, no time | 18-23 Aug

Date range, different months, no time | 30 Aug - 2 Sep

Different days with times | 27 Aug, 6pm - 29 Aug, 6pm

Choosing the month's to show as a full word or abbreviated word is much easier on the eyes, and removing the duplicated date when it's the same day is, again easier to read. This would be a fantastic custom field if these kind of customisations are available.

Inspired by the timeline field I have made a formula field to represent this better for my team (and it is a pain to have to add to every new list I need it in, hence this feature request)

[For interest, I have also made an additional Formula field to show the relative start and due details in another timezone, using this same format, and taking daylight savings difference into account because in RSA we don't have DST]
