Time Totaling
complete
LaToya Davidson-Perez
When I create a search or even if I'm looking at my tasks in other ways, it'd be nice to be able to see the time estimates and logged time totaled on the page. This way, if I'm working an 8-hour or a 4-hour day I can appropriately schedule the time I need.

Sydney Collins: Is it still open? No total timing?

I guess this is a similar post edit, but what I need is something a little different. I have some parent tasks that will never close, only the subtasks close. I would like to see the time estimated and tracked subtracted from the parent task time calculations when subtasks are either closed or archived.
I have attached a screenshot of what I mean. As you can see, the main task shows 7+ hours of estimated time, but in reality, there is only 1.5h of open tasks. The same for the time tracked. There should only be 20 min worth of time tracked, not 6+ hours.
This would help when planning out my day. I have found a workaround for this by using the time estimate widget on a dashboard and filtering only open statuses, due date=today, and not archived. This works for me, but I hate having to change from my list to my dashboard continuously.

Yes. Please make this work. I need to see time estimates totals in pretty much every corner of Clickup. The inbox for me is the place to make the single most important decision: in what order will I do the tasks needed today? I need to be able to see the time estimated as a total as well as per task, so that I can say: I have 22 hours of tasks today - I need to move some to another day. Then, rearrange them in order for the day and get cracking! But I need to see totals pretty much all over the place. That is a key decision factor for me.

Time from 'cloed' tasks not in list total

When a task with tracked time is set to 'closed', the time is not accounted for in the list's total tracked time.

Hey there, Daniel! Right now, we do not include Closed tasks in the list details, however this is something we are planning on adding to ClickUp. I have merged this thread into the feedback request for this feature. :)

Tarun Masani: Great. Thanks for the update. For now, I made a small script that shows the sum total time for whatever tasks are on the page. If this functionality isn't going to come anytime soon and if it would help, I can convert it to a Chrome extension or userscript for other users. Let me know.

Tarun Masani: I was wondering if there was a reason to use done in done status mode as opposed to closed - now have just found it!?

Maria: Hey there! That is an excellent workaround, and thank you for sharing that with the thread!

Tarun Masani: Hi Just found out this does not work as tasks show as overdue and they are not - they are done!

Are there any updates on ETA for this?

Hi there. Any rough ETA on when this would be added? It would be amazingly helpful for ongoing projects with billable hours.

Estimate overall for a list does not update when view is filtered
Łukasz Zygmunt
Hi
So this is quite simple. In this amazing, awesome tools I love more and more every day there is one thing I found and believe to be a bug. This would also make my life easier.
DESCRIPTION
When looking at the list view we get overall estimate for the whole list which is equal to the sum of estimates for all tasks in the list.
In my example I have "Task 1 assigned to me" with an estimate of 1h and "Task 2 assigned to someone else" with an estimate of 2h. Together the whole list shows correctly as 3h estimate being the sum for Task 1 and Task2.
Now, the problem is that when I change from the TEAM view to ME view. In TEAM view I can see correctly the list is 3h estimate; however when I change to ME view it still shows the list is 3h estimate while the list of tasks is really 1h estimate. Basically the system displays the estimate for the whole team without accounting for the fact I'm in the ME view, which I would expect would shows me an estimate of the list for ME - only tasks that I'm assigned to and the ones displayed on the screen.
The same is true when I filter the view by assignee - the list estimate stays the same rather than showing estimate for the tasks currently displayed on the screen.
HOW IT AFFECTS ME
Basically when we're making a plan for the project and assign tasks to members of the project, we can not easily see how much work each member already has assigned to him/her. When I have 20-30 tasks in the project, I want to see list of tasks assigned to Person A and how much estimate those tasks are together. The same for Person B, Person C etc etc. At the moment the estimate is not displayed correctly which means the only way to do it is count manually estimates on the side to work out summary of estimate for each person (screenshot 1,2,3).
The same applies across the system. For example when I look at the list in the board view it provides the time estimate for the whole list at the top of the screen. It shows the same estimate in both ME and TEAM view which is a bit misleading as my tasks do not equal to what is the summary at the top in ME view.
Attached screenshots with an example.
Note. I doesn't make a difference if I expand the List details or refresh the screen.

Hey there, Łukasz! I really appreciate the detail and effort in creating this post. I agree, this is something that can be improve in ClickUp and we are planning on adding this in with Time Totaling in a future update! I've gone ahead and merged this post into that thread. :)
