The action bar up top takes up a lot of screen space and is visually distracting

I'm not really sure I see the benefit of the new global action bar at the top of the page.
It takes up a huge amount of useful screen real estate, where before, the "+Task" button and tools buttons in the bottom-right took up no additional space, and the Profile icon in the that used to be in the bottom-left also took no additional space up.
I also don't see the need to have a big search box on every page, where a small search icon on the left sidebar does exactly the same thing with much less space taken up.
On top of this, being dark when not in dark mode is visually very distracting.
I also think it would still be distracting having this search box at the top of the page even if it was light, as you just want the middle of the page to be the view you intend to see, and the content you need from that view.
All-in-all, I would really encourage a rethink of this global action bar that takes up a tonne of screen space and is very visually distracting.

Wasted space at the top of boards/lists

There is so much wasted space at the top of these views it's a bit baffling. I can't figure out how to get rid of the search bar (why would anyone want this there all the time?) and the rest of the elements could be condensed into an area 1/10 of this size. The cards on the board view don't start until a third of the way down the screen.

Too much space taken up by menus across the top,

For small laptops (13"/14") not much space is left for the content of lists. Each type of menu selection has its own row, rather than say they all being on one row with drop down.
I.e. The search bar has a whole row,
the Space hierarchy/breadcrumbs has a row,
the list views has a row,
Filters and search has a row.
and finally we get to the content
Then when in table view there is a bit of a dead space, roughly two tasks lines, at the bottom of the screen.
So there is about a bit under half the screen taken up by horizontal menus.
ClickUp 2.0 had a much better menu system for small screens.

I completely agree with this thread. It is why I switched back to ClickUp 2.0 until I was hard forced to adopt.

For anyone who uses the calendar view to plan their weeks, the new 3.0 has made the calendar partially useless and I'm considering to switch out of clickup to Notion Calendar since I use the calendar weekly view to shift tasks as and when needed. On my 14" macbook pro, only half of the screen is the "calendar" portion. I am wondering did Clickup developers actually built and tested on larger monitors that are unrealistically usable on laptops that are on the go. I really hope clickup can do something about this. I actually reverted twice to Clickup 2.0 just so I could have a working, usable calendar and now I am forced to switch to Clickup 3.0 against my will.

I don't think that "Search" button should be that wide unless it's a temporary solution to teach users to use a shortcut.
Instead of having that wide "Search" button it would be great to move pinned favorites to that area.
If favorites aren't pinned it would be great to shrink that bar to the minimal height (check how current MacOs "Add to Dock.." feature works, they leave a narrow bar to have those window related buttons (close, minimize, expand)) and to be able to move those global actions to the left to the bottom of the sidebar.
I do not remember when I last clicked on that wide "Search" button or in the actions on the right.

When accessing docs, the path/location is replicated on two lines. See screenshot below. Seems very odd to have the same information in two places adjacent to one another. Makes it confusing to know which to use. Also it contributes to wasted screen space. Can the three navigation lines be condensed into one or two?

Josh Sommer I agree so much with this! The three navigation lines, 4 if we count the mega search bar, uses up sooo much space!

The wasted space in 3.0 is very baffling. The calendar view is so frustrating now between the wasted space at the top and not having the ability to scroll month-to-month, it slows things down so much.
