The ability to be notified when someone makes a change to a Doc
Lou Holtzman
I would like to be notified any time someone makes a change to a particular doc. Not sure how best to implement - maybe with a "Watch" feature so it can be based on individual docs or all docs.

Hey, everyone!
Thank you for following along on this post and providing your feedback!
We've opened this request back up with a more accurate title.
It is still very much on our radar and the ClickUp team will update this request when we have more to share regarding this feature!

Brent Thanks for updating with a more accurate title!

Brent Any updates on this? As we onboard new people and take on more, this is becoming more and more of a pain point. For example when documentation updated or a section added, we need people who have previously read the documentation to be aware of the changes without having to re-read the entire documentation.

Brendan W does watching a page result in notifications when a change is made to the page or just when there’s a comment on the page. The former is what this request is about (“ I would like to be notified any time someone makes a change to a particular doc.”). The latter is nice but is something different and does not address the need.

Brendan W I feel the User Story on this was
"I would like to be notified any time someone makes a change to a particular doc"
Not
"Watchers are people who are notified about comments made on a Doc page."
Mariana Irazu
Brendan W Hi brendan! I dont think this feature was indeed completed as requested. As *Josh *Sommer explains, the request was to be notified whenever an edit is made to the page itself, not when a comment is made. Should we request it again?

Justin Hunter - Any updates on this? This is an important piece for our documentation workflow. I saw another comment from you in April of 2023 that this was planned to be released in 2023. Do you have an update on the timeline? We're eager for this! :)

Any update on this Justin Hunter ?
Also FYI there are two essentially identical requests which should be merged:

Josh Sommer: this is the only feature blocking us using ClickUp docs...

I was excited thinking the "Watchers on Docs" feature just released was this. But apparently it's only for comments?
Still no way to know when changes to docs are made? I would love that feature.

We would love to see more of a 'post' type feature, similar to how Basecamp do their posts that can send a notification to the appropriate people (or even just all members of ClickUp. Can we make it so that it actually does it per page as well as per doc.

when there is a new comment (from another person, not me) on a doc, the others receive a notification of that comment. currently you don´t know if people are commenting inside docs

Hey y'all! This is planned for this year. We'll keep you posted if anything changes.

Allow normal comments on Docs
Nathan Boyer
All comments on Docs are assigned. Even if you remove an Assignee, it shows the comment as "Assigned to Anyone". Allow Doc comments to just be normal comments with watchers and not always require assignees.
