Tasks should be searched by their ID

When searching for a task ("Search tasks..." field in the top-left corner of most views) it should allow to search for a specific task id - otherwise the task id is not useful (users should not be dealing with url parts).

I totally agree, and for me it would be useful to be able to use just part of the ID as I often note down just the last 3 or 4 chars when reviewing things with the team.

I agree that this is absolutely needed. Sidenote: ClickUp tech support just gave me an interim workaround - search for a specific task ID in the top (overall) search bar. This works and opens up the task, no matter which list the task is in compared to the list/space that you are in while searching. (This is not an elegant solution and not the intent of what is being asked for in this feature request, but maybe it will help a little for anyone pulling their hair out while we're waiting for this feature.)

This is really needed in our environment--when we have boards with dozens of tasks, being able to find a task using its custom task ID is vital. WHY HASN'T THIS BEEN DONE YET?! Users have been requesting/demanding it for more than two (2) years now!

This is a general feature available on nearly all task management systems. It is a MUST. Like Natália said in 2021 already - otherwise the auto-generated task ID is not useful at all.
Super
Search task by custom id isn't feasible which makes me surprising.

Search should show Task ID

It would be great if the (s) search hotkey showed the task ID in the results List

This situation is quite frustrating, particularly when attempting to locate a task using the commit message, which contains the task number but has a different description than the task name. Additionally, it's frustrating when discussing a task during a standup and spending 10 minutes searching for it in ClickUp, even though we know its ID. Addressing this issue should be given the highest priority.

not sure why this isn't already a thing. What's the point of having the unique number if you can't search by it???

Search and mention, especially for custom task IDs, so I can do @@MYTASK-123 in other tasks.

Hi, love this request as I come to this problem too, I even ask a helper just how to search via task id in which he said to search via sprint board. But its too hard to notice or not automatically in mind to search their as they provide search task in the list view. Which make confusion why it is searchable in general but not in the lists of tasks.
