Task view | Show closed subtasks in parent view by default / Subtasks remember "Show completed"
Paul Zürcher
In the task view, if I choose to show completed subtasks, please remember this preference. So, when I open the next task, I would like it to show the subtasks as well. The same functionality applies to checklists; there, the preference is saved.

Show closed subtasks

Hi ClickUp Team,
I’d love to have an option to always show completed (closed) subtasks by default when opening a task. Currently, I have to click “Show closed” every time, which slows down my workflow. It would be great to have a setting or preference to make completed subtasks always visible in the task view.
Thank you for considering this feature!

It bothers me that I have toggled on that I want to see closed tasks/subtasks on the list view, but when I clicked into a parent task the closed subtasks are hidden by default.
The preference to have closed subtasks open should carry through.

Remembering user preferences across tasks would definitely improve workflow consistency, especially when switching between items that rely on visible context. Implementing this in LemStudio https://lemstudio.co/ could make task navigation feel much more seamless and aligned with checklist behavior.

THIS! A global setting would be ideal since many users dont know or have trouble toggling them back on every time they click into a task.

or just have a global option that is to show all subtasks in task view or not. and you could have a 3rd one i guess that is remember each tasks settings so you could show it on some and not on others.
but a global setting clickbox of [x] Auto hide closed substasks in task view would probably do the trick

Any movement on this?

We would like it too !!

My concern is a bit different - please include 'Done' subtasks with 'Closed' ones when showing/hiding. Currently, closed tasks are hidden but not the 'done' tasks.
Ideally it should be a different feature, but I see that many such different features are merged into this one. Anyways, +1.

It would be helpful to have the option to unhide completed or approved subtasks. Our team frequently references all subtasks and it's an added step to the process to hunt down completed tasks instead of being able to see in one view.
