There is no activity logged and no notifications send when somebody edits the task description. Pretty dangerous. I found a in progress feature request to bulk notifications for the same thing, so i would say something went wrong.

This should absolutely be a thing.
The "Date Updated" column reflects changes made to Task Descriptions, but the Activity area does not.
Right now, you can have a Task that says it was updated on 1st June in the "Date Updated" column of a List. You open it to find the activity area says it was last updated on 1st April because of, say, a date change. But really the change was from a Task Description change.
The Activity area should populate from Task Description changes, too, so it matches the Date Update column (which is correct).

My supervisor seems to prefer using the description section of a parent task way more than creating subtasks, checklist. As she wants me to to start using that more, it would be nice for that info to transfer offer to the activity log to be able to see which one of us did it, and on the date and time as right now none of that info transfers over.

We would be interested in having the task description changes done in a style similar to 'track changes' where someone can suggest changes and another person can accept those changes.

yes it would be good to see the actual description in the activity log. when description is used for notes, it would be a nice way to see the history of all descriptions/notes in one place.

The history/activity log of a task should include when the description is updated and the diff so folks can see what was newly added/changed.

This is something we have experimented with in the Task 3.0 Beta! It can get very noisy though if there are a lot of edit events, so we're still looking for the right balance.

Sean Kilcullen: For your reference, Asana already offers logs related to the Description along with other logs.
Furthermore, they have added a toggle button to view the differences in changes, as shown in the screenshot.
Due to ClickUp's larger Task Window compared to Asana's, I personally believe it is better regardless of the addition of description logs.
If you still find it too cluttered, another solution could be to provide an option to enable or disable it.
Moreover, I find it inconvenient to check the most recent update time in ClickUp.
I always have to open the History of the Description box and compare the latest logs on both sides solely for this purpose.
